I booked this trip at short notice and couldn’t have been happier with the choice. Malta was chosen for safety, at time of writing, over 80% of the country vaccinated and on the Green list for U.K. plus hot and sunny for late September...
Malta Marriott has recently been refurbished and my room was spotless as were all the communal areas. Cleanliness was important for me for travel during the pandemic and this met the high standards you’d expect. The breakfast every morning with the Gorgeous views were a highlight. Enjoyed the vast array of choices at the buffet and service was efficient. I certainly relished having the room with a view of Balluta Bay, that balcony view will stay me for a while until my next holiday! The staff, especially Willy, Olga, Ron and Elyana couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Always smiling and able to provide recommendations for restaurants and places to see. I also really enjoyed the spa day at their own Myoko Spa. The two therapists were very experienced and made me feel at ease. The location is great too. Easy to walk to St Julians for restaurants and then also to Sliema for the pier and boat trips. Thanks for a great stay!
We recently stayed at the Marriott Hotel in Balluta Bay and thought it was excellent:
The hotel was lovely, modern and clean with some excellent facilities - we particularly enjoyed the M lounge and the indoor pool.
Our hotel room was lovely and spacious and we had daily housekeeping.
Excellent location in Balluta Bay with only a short walk (15mins) through the city to get to the Sliema Ferry Port where you can catch a boat to Valletta (€2.80 euros for a day-return ferry ticket).
The staff were lovely and helpful...
The reception also included a desk (near the shop) where you can view and book various boat rides/excursions around Malta (note, we didn't actually use this service as we only discovered it on the last day, but we wish we did as it would have saved us so much time googling/booking things ourselves. Therefore putting it in here so others are aware and can benefit)
There were a couple of minor downsides (but not enough to knock down the rating):
Overall, it was a lovely hotel and we would happily stay again!
We visited Malta for a 11 day holiday in September and stayed at the Marriott. Perfectly situated in Balluta Bay enjoying easy access to the myriad of cafes and restaurants surrounding the hotel. Very helpful staff from initial booking enquiry in April to our arrival in September and departure in October...
Great food enjoyed in all the Marriotts restaurants. The omnipresent Alex (General Manager) was very helpful in recommending a venue for our Wedding Anniversary. Thanks once again Alex. The star of the show was Andrijana Petrovic who managed all our reservation details beautifully. Special thanks also to Antonio, restaurant manager and also all the Breakfast team. The very hard working and efficient bar and restaurant staff on the hotels 12/13 floor Swimming pool also excelled themselves. Covid has been a trying time for us all and the staff at this Hotel tried their very best to ensure we had a pleasant and enjoyable stay. Well done and I am sure you can only get even better when a full compliment of staff is available. Like everywhere Hotels and restaurants in Malta are suffering from acute staff shortages as a result of Covid and we should recognise this and be quicker to praise not criticise those doing their best to serve us. Thanks Marriott we will be back.
Exceptional seven days at the Marriott, amenities at the hotel very good and hotel located in a good location.
The deluxe sea room was spacious and very clean, the only downside was the separate lavatory which would not be suitable for mobility impaired people and those who don't like small confined spaces.
The buffet breakfast at The Marketplace was so well organised and service with a smile and a rigorous Covid 19 protocol in place. Also the chefs and staff will go the extra mile to cater for dietary requirements, in my case they made sure that my vegan friend was well catered for in order to enjoy the buffet breakfast. A big thanks to Duncan, Roderick, and the pastry chef (Chana), and all the other staff at The Marketplace.
Thanks to staff members Antonio, Marta, and Yusuf, Yusuf in housekeeping did a brilliant job in cleaning the room.
A truly great stay at the Marriott and would highly recommend.
This is a very special hotel with lovely rooms, great facilities, fabulous location and lovely staff. When we were there it was just let down by the fact that every day we had to ask for the rooms to be cleaned and keep asking. I know there are staff shortages everywhere but it means that you can’t really get the benefit of a nice fresh room every day and that is really the basic requirement from a hotel stay...
It’s a lovely hotel though and I will go back. I just hope that this can be sorted out.
