Just 700 metres from the beautiful Porto de Mós Beach, Faro Airport is less than 75 kilometers away by car, and approximately 1.5 kilometres from the historical centre of Lagos, this Hotel is the perfect pit stop with its combination of hospitality, comfortable ambience and excellent services. The Apartments are cozy and well designed, where guests can relax after an exhausting day on the road. Those who have opted for a longer stay at this truly inviting establishment can alternate the sightseeing and seaside activities with lounging by the Olympic-sized pool or go for a walk in the beautifull beaches of Lagos.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The restaurant is sub par. I couldn't finish my meal. The wifi is terrible, my phone hot spotting did better.
1 bedroom appartment was spacious and in excellent condition.Cleaners came in everyday.Pool and surrounding area was massive.I would definitely recommend this hotel and appartment complex
We stayed in the self catering ‘villas’ which were great for our family of four with our boys sharing the sofa bed. I booked directly with the hotel and had breakfast each day included in the price. I would say this was good value for money, the breakfasts were varied and plentiful with pastel de nata, hash browns and champagne our favourite items!
The fabulous cleaning team came in every day to clean and replace towels.
The pool is huge and there was always plenty of space, beds always available and well spaced. Pool towels available for a returnable deposit which we did and could change those for new towels whenever.
Short walks to two beaches and down into Lagos town. We generally ate in town and got an Uber back up the hill (£4). We also used Uber one night for a trip to Luz (12 minutes away) which was lovely, we found a great beach side restaurant there.
A great choice for Lagos, plenty going on and the concierge can help with any activity or restaurant bookings. Really quiet at night.
Stayed in one of their apartments, which are a great choice if you have a car, which can park it in front of the little house. These apartments also have a small kitchen with all the utilities you might need, so, if you're into preparing your own breakfast, you can do that. There's a Spar shop ~1km away and another smaller shop closer. You also get access to the hotel pool. The water in the pool was a little chill this time of year, so we ended up not using it too much unfortunately. On the less positive side, you're not so close to the city center, but you're close enough to the Ponte de Piedad, where you can walk or run in the mornings and that also gives you access to the beach. To get to the city center, you can walk the ~1,5-2 km or get a Bolt/Uber. I also learned that the bathroom is not so well designed and you might get water out of the shower and into the bathroom if you're the type that needs to use too much water when they shower. The rest was perfect. The room has AC, the bed and sofa are great, you also have a little terrasse outside. I'd try the hotel maybe next time, since I didn't have a car and could have lived without a kitchen.
A great find. We stayed for a week in October. This one bedroom apartment was more like a mini house. It had a large double bedroom and a sofa bed in the kitchen/louge. It was very clean and modern. There were two patio areas, one directly outside and then a rooftop one which was great for catching late evening sun. The rooms were super clean and the shower was amazing. The cleaners were lovely and provided fresh towels and beds made daily. The staff were super helpful and very friendly. The pool was great, one large pool and two smaller ones for children. Plenty of sunbeds too. We ate in the restaurant twice for breakfast. This was okay but we preferred to eat out. A ten minute walk to a beautiful beach and a ten minute walk into the old town. The old town is full of bars and restaurants and is a great place to go. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would advise ignoring the bad reviews!! I don’t have anything bad to say about Ancora and hopefully will return
