Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The hotel is definitely outdated, but it is not bad. We had a very large room with separate sleeping and dining areas (including a kitchenette), as well as a huge balcony. The step between the sleeping area and the rest of the room can be a trip-and-fall hazard. The bathroom also lacks a lock. When we arrived, we found a bottle of water, tea bags, and sugar in the room. None of these items were replenished during the following days. I also asked for additional bar soap and was told that there was no more bar soap available (?). The hotel is nicely situated between the ocean and a green hillside, with swallows flying overhead. Our room had a "partial ocean view," which also included a view of the town. The breakfast was good and varied slightly each day. It included cucumbers, tomatoes, cold cuts, hot dogs, scrambled eggs, fruits, pastries, bread, nuts, and dried fruits. The breakfast area offers a wonderful view of the ocean.
Great place. Huge rooms, spotless and turned down each day. Simple but quality breakfast and a good bar. Great pool with views over to the sea from the terrace. For the price I can not recommend highly enough. Staff very attentive and friendly. Amazing seafood restaurant 2mins walk.
We have Just got home from a week in Dom Pedro apartments Lagos. 5th-11th October 2025 Im going to start with the negatives..which isn't much. We stayed in a standard apartment 102. It was overlooking the big drive/carpark which was noisy. The other negative about the apartment was there is a hot water cylinder on a shelf in the bedroom which came on and off and as its in the bedroom it woke me with the noise. Strange place to find it!! POSITIVES Its a lovely place to stay. The beach is across the road about 5min walk. The pool is a good size. Cold though! Plenty of beds so no putting towels on and going off for hours! Staff were outstanding. Especially GUSTAVO & KATARINA. NEED TO KNOW... There isn't a hair dryer in rooms but you can get one from reception (no charge) Pool towels are free too. The rooms come equipped There's an ironing board and Iron. Look for the extension which we didn't find for a couple of days and were boiling the kettle on the floor as plugs are very low. No oven just a microwave Big outside patio where we sat every morning with our cuppa before going out There is a large supermarket called PINGU DOLCE about 1.5 miles away. Uber/taxi are not expensive. The Marina which is a mile away is stunning and across the Marina is the old town...fabulous architecture a must for both places Lots of bars and Restaurants Transfer from Faro air port was around 1 hour 15mins! I did do a video of room but unable to attach.
Only visited for four days thankfully with cheap deal from BA. Beds comfortable clean linen etc but basic to say the least . Main problem is noise from upstairs /adjoining apartment every cough , step, movement of furniture using bathroom etc etc. First morning 3am upstairs alarm goes off and they obviously have an early flight ! Then 7am people up the sound is unbearable due to no insulation and tiled floors . Unless you are a heavy sleeper don't even consider this place it was awful . Would never stay here agan
We travelled for 3 days in September as a couple with our 2 year old toddler. We stayed in a one bed sea view apartment. The hotel it’s self is clean but simple and in need of a revamp, it’s quiet dark inside. The staff were helpful, polite and attentive. Check in was quick and straight forward. The pool area was nice clean and relaxing, had nice drinks and pool bar menu but found it strange they didn’t have French fries on the menu as a snack bar. Our apartment was absolutely roasting it seemed like the air conditioning unit had not been updated since the hotel was built in the 80s it was so old and not functional, it actually felt as though warm air was coming out at one stage it was very uncomfortable as it was 30 degrees outside. The apartment itself was basic but functional plenty of space a kitchenette living room with separate bedroom and bathroom. The view from our room was absolutely stunning we could see right over to the coast of Alvor it was beautiful! About 20 min walk to the marina and old town but 5 mins in an Uber which was cheap maybe €4 each way. Over all it was a pleasant experience but probably wouldn’t return. Thanks for the memories Don Pedro Lagos 😊
