This beautiful apartment complex lies in the coastal village of Praia da Luz, only 2 km from the wonderful sandy beaches and a 15-minute drive to the historic city of Lagos, where travellers can find numerous shopping venues and nightclubs. Facilities such as supermarkets, restaurants and bars are all to be found in the immediate vicinity. The accommodation units are beautifully appointed with attention to detail and present a charming countryside style, with a combination of modern and classic furnishings. All come equipped with air-conditioning, a satellite TV and a private terrace or balcony. After a restful night's sleep, guests may enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet at the on-site restaurant and then go for a swim into the sparkling outdoor pool. The friendly staff of the property will be more than happy to assist guests in all their needs and recommend some great trips around the city.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We have stayed here 5 times in total, but will not be back.
I’ve always had a good rapport with the owner (over email), but she didn’t even seem bothered to reply, prior to our stay.
While there, she sent a cleaner down to the pool area to tell us (a group of 4) to be quiet, as long stay guests were trying to read their books. No compromise, no discussion.
We have since found a nice spot in Alvor, where all guests are treated with respect, and the food offering is far superior.
We stayed 10 nights as a group of 10 people doing recreational activities in the Algarve. We also stayed here for 2 nights in September 25. Rooms/apartments were great with a restaurant & bar on site. Food was amazing and well thought out to provide us with a true taste of Portuguese cuisine. Patricia & Catia couldn't be more helpful with everything we needed. Great value for money, quiet location close to Luz and easy to get around. Highly recommended 👌
My partner and I stay here for the first week of July 2024. We informed the hotel that we would be arriving late as it is not manned 24hrs a day. Prompt response from hotel and received a WhatsApp message to inform when we arrived, a member of staff arrived within 5 minutes to show us to our apartment. It is a small complex of 16ish apartments. Keycoded electric gate for easy access day and night, ample carpark. We stayed in number 15, one bedroom, large, clean apartment, with a reasonable equipped, kitchenette (bring basics no shop on site, water etc), Bath with shower over bath and comfortable king size bed. Plenty of storage space and a safe in wardrobe and good size balcony. All apartment overlook pool, which was a tad fresh when we stayed but weather had not been great in previous weeks so did warm up with more hours of sun. The complex is quiet with lovely garden. Staff were very friendly and helpful, anything required can be asked at reception or via WhatsApp if not manned, prompt response to any message. It is a 30 minute hilly walk to luz but the hotel team will order a taxi with a company they have an agreement with, we used this service one early evening costing €5.50 late evening and return journey of €7.50, very reliable and professional service. Continental breakfast was included, hot choice of food, varied choice for small hotel. Evening meals can be ordered. We had a car for the week, good base to explore, luz has many good resturants , cafes and shops. All the staff were happy and friendly and I would happily stay here again.
Thankyou to the manager and her team... we had a great week.
We had a great time, very relaxing. Catia & Patericia (hope we have spelt name correctly) made sure any concerns we had were dealt with quickly and efficently. Staff work hard, lovely breakfast each morning and great coffee!! Had an evening meal which we requested before 4pm and chose from menu delivered to our room. We arrived at the restaurant and enjoyed a few drinks before being served mouth watering lamb type of casserole (best meal of the holiday) and good red wine. We did not have a car but walked to Espiche, bus service available but check times especially during off season. Bus to Lagos, spent a day visiting the Old Town with great and varied shops. Luz beach picturesque, had a wonderful short break people friendly and helpful. Location very peaceful and taxi service reasonable price.
The place is nice and remote and very peaceful. We stayed here during the first week of August. The staff work hard and they look after their guests. It’s obvious they take pride and it really shows.
The rooms can vary, some are very nice, especially near the pool. They are more like studio rooms and very spacious. Both rooms we had also had a TV and a fridge.
Quite a few reviews mention having a car. I recommend this, I thought I could get away without a car hire but later regretted it. Although saying that Bolt, Uber and FreeNow were great apps for cabs and the fares were crazy cheap. There is a 30 min walk to get to the beach, just check Apple/Google maps (we ignored the ‘private’ sign as it was a public path anyway :P
Pros:
Cons:
I know I listed some cons, but they are more of guidance to take precautions like hire a car, get snacks and drinks from the local Spar, etc.. I loved our stay here, it was wonderful.
