Enjoyed our stay here, came for a week with a friend. We had a one bed apt, very nice and modern. Big rooms, nice big shower enclosure, plenty of hot water. Modern kitchen with everything you need, including washing up liquid. Big bottle of water and biscuits on the table on arrival, very welcome at 12.30am !! Pool are ok, very quiet, nice staff at pool bar. About 20 mins walk downhill to town, we usually got a taxi back, about 5 to 6 euros from memory. Yes I would stay again.
Rating: 1⭐ for food safety, 5⭐ for Joseph
I had a very scary experience at the pool bar during our stay this week. I ordered a sandwich and, to my absolute horror, found a large chicken bone in my mouth while eating. I began to choke.
Thankfully, the bar manager Joseph was incredibly astute and noticed immediately. His swift, calm, and caring action stopped me from choking. I honestly believe that if he hadn’t intervened, this holiday could have had a very different outcome. I can’t thank him enough.
This was extremely distressing. A bone of that size in a sandwich is a serious food safety issue. This incident completely overshadowed what should have been a relaxing day by the pool.
To management: Please review your kitchen procedures urgently. Bones should never end up in a sandwich filling. Joseph deserves commendation for his professionalism — please pass on our gratitude. He turned a potential tragedy into a story we can tell.
Stayed June 2026
Great place our 2nd visit staff are fab ,accommodation great massive terrace for a studio .,very clean and peaceful place to stay .All staff in bar and restaurant lovely Joseph bar manager is funny and friendly, the young bar tender from Cape Verde was great he remembered us from 3 years ago .Highly recommend Villa Branca .Happy Guests will return.
Arrived here for a weeks holiday with family, consisting of adults and children, 10 of us in total age range from 2-70+, the staff were extremely accomadating, We arrived and couldn’t check in to our rooms straight away as they weren’t ready, The staff allowed us to change in the bathrooms and stored our bags in a hold room so we could get out in the sun and wait in comfort for our rooms to be prepared. The water was off ok the area, which was a bit of a panic because no toilets were working, but this was resolved within a few hours. Drinks and food within the hotel were great, but we also visited the local shop round the corner throughout our stay and purchased snacks and drinks to keep us all going as it can get pricey going back and forth to the bar. The apartments/rooms were exceptional, very modern and so so clean! Cleaners attended the apartments every day and made the beds up and if you left your towels on the floor they would change these for clean ones. This hotel Is in a lovely quiet area, about 15/20 mins walk to Lagos old town, or a few euros in a taxi, stunning small intimate beaches also, supermarket about the same distance so very convinient, we enjoyed daily Walks to explore the area. The hotel has 2 pools, one of each side Of the apartment blocks and was never to busy, always plenty of sun loungers to choose from, with a drinks and food bar on the pool that wasn’t connected to the main hotel side so you didn’t have to go far. Pools were lovely and clean, And although the signs said no inflatables allowed, we had no issues in using them, nobody came and told us to remove them From the pool so that was a win, And others had inflatables to so it really can’t of been a huge issue. Literally have no complaints, other than the late check In time, which I think was 4pm, But they are very accommodating. Would absolutely return to This hotel, hospitality was second to none.
Fantastic hotel, great staff
