Just 50 yards from the popular sandy beach at Quarteira, and numerous other popular beaches in the area, it's easy to see why this hotel is loved by people of all ages. Quarteira, once a fishing village, is now a bustling tourist resort with plenty of attractions including a marina, waterpark and delightful golf courses. The colourful local markets are also a 'must see' destination on your Quarteira holiday.

Best of all, you'll find your own balcony where you can breathe in that sea air and plan your next holiday activity.
Perhaps a swim is top of your list? The Atismar Hotel boasts a good-sized freshwater pool in the grounds so you won't have far to go for a cooling dip in the hot sunshine. You might want to start working on that tan straight away - in which case just bag yourself a comfy sunbed, lie back and relax.... Now it really feels like you're on holiday.
Of course no holiday to the Algarve is complete without some time spent enjoying the beautiful sandy beaches - famous around the world and ever popular with tourists and locals. If you fancy a break from the midday sun, a siesta in the hotel is in easy reach; so too are the many restaurants and bars of the resort.
For other fun-filled options, why not take a day trip to the waterpark, or swing a club at the golf course in neighbouring Vilamoura? A wander around the local traditional market - either in Quarteira or at Loulé - is a great way to while away a couple of hours and stock up on souvenirs or gifts.
And in the evening, you could enjoy a meal at the hotel restaurant followed by a drink in the bar. You might even like to try your luck at the local casino. The choice is yours...
Just 50 yards from the popular sandy beach at Quarteira, the former fishing village that has developed into a bustling little resort, the 3-star Atismar Hotel is a popular family choice. It is also within walking distance of some of the Algarve's best beaches. There is a good sized freshwater pool in the hotel grounds. Quarteira itself is centred in an area full of tourist attractions including the Marina, casino and golf at neighbouring Vilamoura, a waterpark and many more. There are also local traditional markets in both Quarteira and at Loulé, an attractive town, a short distance inland.
Super nice and friendly staff! Marvellous food!! Make sure you go all inclusive and you’ll have one of the best experiences in Algarve!
There were two positive aspects of our stay at this hotel:
Unfortunately, apart from those points, the hotel was a major disappointment and I would not recommend it for an all-inclusive holiday.
The buffet selection was very limited, and most of the cooked food was extremely greasy. After one meal, we both experienced stomach issues, so we avoided most of the fried dishes for the remainder of our stay. Vegetarians are likely to find very few options available.
There was no air conditioning in the restaurant area, making it very uncomfortable during meal times. We often sat near the doors where it was slightly cooler. We were so dissatisfied with the food that on three of our six days we chose to eat at local restaurants instead, which defeats the purpose of paying for an all-inclusive package. The snack bar offering was also very poor, consisting mainly of slices of cheese, ham, bread, and onion rings.
The day and evening bar areas felt plain, dated, and lacked atmosphere. The evening bar was combined with the dining area, so it suffered from the same lack of air conditioning. There were also no daytime or evening activities organised by the hotel.
The room itself was modern, but the wardrobe was far too small for two people to unpack comfortably. Towels were supposed to be changed three times per week, yet ours were not changed at all during our five-night stay. There was no hairdryer in the room; one could be borrowed from reception, but only after paying a €20 deposit.
The location was decent, being very close to the beach and nearby restaurants. The pool was relatively small but acceptable.
One maintenance issue that stood out was an air-conditioning leak in the outdoor restaurant area, which dripped continuously onto one of the tables throughout our stay.
Apart from the rooms, most of the hotel appeared quite outdated. There were two lifts serving around ten floors, and although they were supposedly designed for four people, they felt cramped with more than two passengers. The lifts were also frequently used by staff, which often resulted in long wait times.
I understand this is a three-star hotel, and I did not expect luxury. However, I have stayed in other three-star hotels that provided a significantly better experience.
Expectations will vary from person to person, but overall we were disappointed with our stay and would not return or recommend this hotel. That is particularly unfortunate because the staff were genuinely friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our visit.
Lovely hotel in a great location. Two minute walk to the beach. Very clean and staff were great, very friendly and most helpful. Food was great, no ques and always cooked fresh, great variety, good choice and fresh fruit was amazing.
I came on tour with my rugby team met igor the bar man he was welcoming polite and helped us in any way he could.
And if you're trying to get wasted Igor can definitely facilitate that.
It's worth staying here it is clearly the best hotel in this part of Portugal.
Pool is clean. Rooms are basic but adequate, food is nice.
Igor if you see this we all love ya.
Just got home from staying here for 4 nights, lovely hotel and friendly staff, we made friends with a male worker in the restaurant who made lunch time worth going, made us smile and laugh, gutted I didn't get his name, the rooms are small but clean, we had 2 balconies on 1st floor, no kettles or mini fridges in room but can ask for a kettle if needed, overall I would stay here again, thank you for making my 1st experience in portugal a good one 😊
