The hotel is well located in Tavira, far away enough from the town although it is but a 5 minute walk away. Check in was straightforward, staff were friendly and polite. The hotel room is clean and in decent condition although a bit dated. The beds were comfortable. The balcony was a plus in the evenings, we were able to sit outside and enjoy the breeze. The poolside environment is relaxed with plenty of deckchairs and a good poolside bar. In the evening the rooftop bar and restaurant has live music. We went for drinks and snacks and it was chilled out although service could be a little slow at times due to number of guests. It was great value for the location and with excellent access to Tavira town centre. We would recommend it for a holiday in Tavira.
It’s was the second visit to this hotel but felt it had gone downhill , our room wasn’t cleaned to a good standard , when we got into room on first day I had to clean veranda table as it was filthy, the cleaners came in everyday but never once in the 6days we were there was the floor brushed or cleaned, we won’t be going back to this hotel as standards are falling .
The hotel location is great for the town. The interior is very classy and the rooms a good size. The pools were too cold to go in except for indoor spa pool. Nice little gym, could do with more floor mats though. The breakfast was a good choice. The evening meal was a set meal choice of two things. It wasnt clear they would offer a vegetarian option so make sure you ask. Tavira itself is up and coming, there is alot of graffiti the council should paint over it. The streets are cobbled and is pretty especially over the river. Food and drink was a good price down the side streets especially the patisserie just up road.
Fifth visit and still fabulous: Pros Great staff Rooftop bar is a nice post dinner spot (although service is slow) Breakfast has a lot of options Cons Coffee machine is now available at breakfast but still not the best - avoid the cappuccino as it’s weak and sweet! Easy walk into town (yes it’s uphill coming back) and v close to great restaurants and cheap bars - €2 glasses of wine in lots of local places!
We were lucky enough to receive a free upgrade from the suites to the presidential suite. Really nice and comfortable with a great view over the pool and Tavira. Huge bedrooms, lounge/kitchen/diner. Staff are really lovely here, some working from breakfast till last orders in the bar. Breakfast was really nice and relaxing. Lunch by the pool bar also good. Dinner was good but not a great deal of choice on the a la carte or tapas menu. Good selection of drinks in the bar, cocktails very good too. Tavira is a very nice town with ample restaurants. If I had to be picky, some milk on arrival for tea and coffee would be good and a cork screw in the kitchen. Would definitely stay again as we spent quite a lot of time in our suite and hotel due to storms.
