Enjoying a beautiful setting and spectacular views of the Atlantic, it is, undoubtedly, one of the finest hotels on the eastern coast.
The Royal Orchid is the perfect place for all sorts of different holidays. So what are you looking for? Canico de Baixo is one of the most picturesque sights in Madeira - and if you've already spent any time there, you'll know that's quite a claim. But the beautiful bay and the nearby marine nature reserve both point to this being as unspoilt as it gets.

From your light, bright studio apartment you'll have a superb view of the sea - and your balcony means you can get as many long, lingering looks as you want. You'll also enjoy the well-equipped kitchenette and bathroom. Additional facilities include a satellite TV, telephone, and hairdryer. Safe deposit boxes are also available.
You could happily spend a whole week or two at the Royal Orchid Hotel; with its wonderful health club - just wait till you see the indoor pool - its sauna and steam bath, as well as its games room, its bar and buffet restaurant. And if you do want to head further afield, just hop on the hotel shuttle bus and enjoy the ride into Funchal.

My husband and I looked forward to our holiday in the island we love. We chose Royal Orchid because it was near to the sea, with wonderful views. We arrived at the Hotel and it was everything we hoped for. Our room with a separate bedroom and bathroom, with a large terrace area excellent...
Staff at Royal Orchid could not have been more friendly and helpful,Especially the young lady at reception who help sort out things when are taxi was late. Cleaners so diligent, room was kept spotless every day. BUT Unfortunately we had to take our meals in the sister hotel adjoining our Hotel The Rokamar Hotel. It had the weirdest food ever. My bud and who can eat anything Was a bit taken a back. I lived on cheese and biscuits . Would not recommend unless you like rustic type cuisine. Strangest breakfast I have ever seen. Thank goodness for bread rolls and toast. We booked the Royal Orchid Hotel , moor expensive than the Rokamar Hotel, where the dinning room we had to use. Would recommend you check before you book..
Me and my husband didn't like this hotel. It is very old, old fashioned hotel and not a place for young couple (we are 29). Food wasn't good at all...very few options.ll foods taste the same...
Everyday I strugled to find something to eat. So if you are picky with the food and looking for modern place with young people - Don't go there. Staff was kind and helpful.
We are just back from our 3 weeks stay in Royal Orchid. The hotel is very nice: lovely location, very friendly and welcoming staff, very clean. the Jacuzzi , sauna and swimming pool are nice. The junior suite we stayed in was nice, everything was there for a comfortable stay. The shuttle bus to Funchal was very much appreciated. it was well organised with booking in advance...
One thing that was a little bit disappointing was food. We were on Half board, it was ok, but we wouldn't call it excellent. We still enjoyed staying in Royal Orchid and would stay there again when we come to visit Madeira. Thanks to all the staff of the hotel.

Nice hotel beautifully situated on a cliff, clean, with a great ocean view from the room and balcony. Tasty and varied food, delicious fruits. Free sunbeds and umbrellas on the cliff and by the pool in sufficient numbers...
