In the heart of tourist heaven on the Costa del Sol, the Hotel La Barracuda is ideally located in the Montemar area of Torremolinos. Just a stone's throw from the pretty marina and just next to the beach, this popular hotel is also just 2km from the charming old town of Torremolinos with its cobbled streets, shaded squares, colourful gardens and pleasant mix of shops and restaurants. The hotel is surrounded by extensive gardens and boasts everything you need for a fun and relaxing holiday.
There's so much to recommend La Barracuda hotel. As you sit by the pool with the sun shining amid clear blue skies, you'll have plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy your surroundings. To make the most of the weather, sunbeds and parasols are available to hire from the hotel.
Of course lounging poolside is a big part of any sunshine holiday and here at La Barracuda you'll find it's no different. As well as a generously proportioned pool surrounded by grass and shade, for serious sunbathers (or those who just want to find a peaceful corner to enjoy a book) the 10th floor sun terrace offers spectacular views in every direction. You're also sure to want to spend some time in the pool bar overlooking the sea. This is the perfect place to unwind with a cocktail and watch the sun go down as the views are simply wonderful.
If you're looking for alternative activities to sun-worshipping and swimming, why not opt for a spot of tennis – or even table tennis? Both are on offer for guests at no charge. There's also a games room and television room plus Wi-Fi access (at a fee) to stay in touch with the outside world whilst on holiday.
Accommodation at La Barracuda is all designed with guests in mind. Comfortable air conditioned rooms are well equipped with en suite bathroom, satellite TV and telephone. Your room will also have a private terrace or balcony – the perfect place to pause and plan your day or evening, or to breathe in that wonderfully fresh seaside smell that is so much a part of a beach holiday in the sun.
This is a holiday where you can get into the party atmosphere too. As well as a restaurant and two bars, every night at La Barracuda you'll be treated to some great live entertainment including traditional flamenco shows with all their colour and vibrancy. This is exactly the kind of holiday that fond memories are made of.

Lovely, clean hotel, excellent friendly staff, had room on 7th floor, got the sun from mid morning to nightfall, well worth paying extra for pool view. Considering the corona virus, the hotel dealt with this very well, think it closes today when all customers have left. Room had fridge, satellite tv with all channels, bar area nice with happy hour from 4-5pm, 2 for 1...
Breakfast very good, evening meal some nights better than others, never had to queue for meals, tables always cleaned, very well run with super efficient staff. On the promenade, walk one way to Torremolinos, other way to marina and Benalmádena, handy for the buses. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
my wife and i stayed here for a week and enjoyed every minute the hotel is very clean the staff are fantastic and the food great if we had a complaint it would be that a week was not long enough hope to go back soon
Good check in. We asked to change rooms as we wanted a double rather than twin. This was done on the spot with no problems...
Bowl of nice fruit, water and bottle of fizz left in the room which was what we had ordered. Fabulous balcony (probably 10ft wide) looking onto the pool and the beach upto Benalmadena. Probably one of the best views on the Carihuela. The sun was on the balcony first thing and through until sunset - perfect. We just took B&B. Breakfast was ok with usual selection of bacon, eggs, tomatoes and beans. Good choice of bread and rolls although the jams and coffee could have been better. Great value in February but gets pricey later in the year, which is expensive compared with other hotels in the area
Arrived at hotel and check in was quick and courteous.Perfect location right at the paseo and beach Given a room on the first floor above reception with a street view and never got any sun on balcony at any time and was awoken each morning by the bin lorry emptying the bins right below our room ( I would recommend asking for a pool view room.Room was clean but furniture showing signs of age .Free toiletries in bathroom with the most powerful over bath shower in the world. Bed was comfortable however the headboard was free standing and we had to move the bed-frame away from the wall because every time you turned over in bed the unique headboard would bang against the wall and wake you up and probably awaken next door too.Plenty of wardrobe space but no drawers to put clothing away. The bar and pool areas were clean and drink prices were reasonable...
Moving on to the food--Where do I start???. The good point was the breakfasts are ok with chef making omelettes to order if desired. I have been fortunate enough to stay in a number of hotels in Torremolinos over the last 7 years the food at La Barracuda is by far and away the worst choice and quality of food it has ever been my misfortune to be served. If you like fish (which had more bones than flesh) pork and veal then you were not going to be disappointed as there was always plenty of it served in some sort of sauce / gravy and did not look too good. The Pizza was served in squares and was dried out and appeared to be a lot short on cheese or any other topping for that matter .Chilli con carne was available 2 nights of the 7 we were there and was stone cold and was basically a huge bowl of greyish coloured lumps of mince with not a lot else in it. Chicken risotto was one choice one night and there was that few pieces of chicken in it that the person in front of me in the buffet queue picked all the chicken from the dish and left everyone else the rice. The salad bar was an absolute disgrace with no cheeses or cold meats etc. available at any time however they upped the ante one night and sprinkled tuna flakes on top of salad leaves. I thought I had seen everything until one evening someone decided it would be a good idea to serve chicken wings in gravy as a main course. Really ?? Chicken wings which have hardly any meat on anyway. I worked in the mass catering industry for over 20 years and realise the budgetary constraints applied but come on someone needs a kick up the backside for serving up this muck. The desserts were poor too. Choice of a different flavour each night of some sort of Angel delight with stale chocolate cake sprinkled over the top, profiteroles (which were frozen in the middle), small pieces of cake, ice cream or fresh fruit. The waiting staff were very pleasant and worked extremely hard as did the cleaning staff. Overall we enjoyed the majority of aspects of the hotel but if you are thinking of booking then please do yourself a HUGE favour and think about bed and breakfast or room only option and eat out at the abundance of restaurants on the doorstep. I would stay at the hotel again due to its beachfront location and closeness to the Marina.
My hubby + I have just returned from a fabulous stay at this hotel. It is centrally located to lots of shops, beautiful bars + restaurants, it's on the beach front. We arrived a few hours earlier & our room was ready, this was fantastic aft our journey, brilliant + A Big Thank u...
The lady at reception was lovely + ever so friendly. Our room was amazing with stunning views over looking the beach/pool + beautiful promandae ☀️We had a basket of fruit, bottle of water & a bottle of pescesso waiting on us 🍾this was a beautiful token ❤️ Thanks to all. The room was spacious with all toiletries, cleaned every day during our stay. The bed was amazingly comfortable + it was a double bed fabulous 😛No hair dryer in room but available at reception & also the safe is located in the reception area, we were happy with this had our own key + 24hr access to it, wasn't a problem. Breakfast was fabulous so much to offer & to suit everyone. The only disadvantage I would have to this hotel (it wouldn't put me off returning but it's something I like personally) is that there are no shower facilities on the day of departure. Our flight was late evening + we like to make the most of our last day n soak up the sun ☀️ it's always nice to get that shower before we make our long journey home. Maybe something to think abt as all other hotels have these facilities. Would definitely return, thanks to all for a fabulous stay 🎉☀️🍾🥂
