You will also find many bars, including a poolside bar, sports bar and a theatre with evening shows.
Didn’t think it is as good as it could be. Spending as much as we did to stay there didn’t impress. Thought there could have been more food variety and also royal level could accommodate better on check out day. Sharing two cubicle showers and all getting dressed in same room (ladies Shower room) on check out day with everyone else who is staying In Castillo hotel didn’t impress. Don’t understand why as part of staying tin royal level you could get longer in the room if needed. Not even getting the choice to stay in another room at a charge or even getting a couple of extra hours. Room was great, cleaners were really good. Bar staff at the bars on marine where not very attentive when looking to get served. Felt like there could be more of a choice on food buffet for kids, maybe pizzas or pasta, there seemed to be a lot of options for bread!! 🍞
We are a family of 6, with 4 teenagers and had two one bedroom bungalows booked. The location of this hotel is great, close to the beach, and the size and layout of the pools are very good.
This was my third stay in a Barcelo hotel and there was a noticeably lower quality here than the other hotels I have stayed in. Staff just don't seem to really care; service was slow in restaurants to get dirty plates cleared or drink orders taken, food was mislabelled in the buffer, lack of umbrellas for shade around the pool, sofa bed for sleeping had ill-fitting bedsheets and was very squeaky which disturbed sleep.
On raising several points with the Customer Experience Manager no real action was taken except for the offer to put a single bed in the living room of the accommodation.
Tip if you do go: There process for beach towels does not make sense - its a €10 deposit but to change for a clean towel costs €2 so just return the towels for. refund and then make a new deposit for clean ones.
Overall I would not recommend unless you get a cheap deal.
Overall this has been a great holiday with grandparents and boys and our son , there was so much to do
Nice hotel overall, clean both in our bungalow and in all the main areas. Good breakfast but it felt like cost cutting was taking place (juices like water, nutella only there sometimes) pools were all good but way too much sunlounger hogging all day with no one using them?! Kids activities were excellent with lots to do. WiFi very good. Excellent location with beautiful views. Some general maintenance needs to be done around the back of the property (board walk) staff were all very friendly.
We spent two weeks here. The hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. The accommodation, we had two bungalows, was spacious clean and comfortable. We were 1/2 board and found the food good and plenty of choice. We ate breakfast daily and picked up a few snacks for lunch, the eve meals were varied and delicious. The pools were not too busy although not enough umbrellas so you have to do an early towel run to get one. We mostly stayed at the smaller pools as the ones at the main hotels were a bit busy for us. The beach is great and loads of sun beds available for a cost. All in all it was a great stay and we would return.
