Fourth visit to this hotel, good choice of salad and hot food in the Royal Level and excellent service from all the waiters. All staff strictly adhering to covid restrictions. Excellent reward scheme from Barcelo.
Will definitely be back soon!
Lovely to return to a familiar place that has never disappointed us. The weather was a warm 22-23 C . The staff were very friendly and everyone without exception said Ola to us and went out of their way to make our stay happy...
This hotel is good. However we had one of the junior suite seaview rooms. This comes with a jacuzzi on the veranda. Here lies the problem...
Second day I got out of the jacuzzi , stepped over to the sun lounger to grab my bathrobe and it was like an ice rink. I fell and fractured my wrist. There is no warning that the tiles are slippery . The decking immediately surrounding the jacuzzi is fine but not the tiles . This completely ruined my holiday.
Just back from this hotel and a overall good experience from my 1st time staying at a Barceló.After a 2 hour wait at the airport to go throw passport control and a very rude taxi driver we where hoping nothing was going to go wrong with the stay , where the rooms where was excellent and the room was big and roomy, but very hot , the pool was great but ice cold but I think that’s ok as it was hot and good to cool down , pool bar had excellent drinks and snacks. The food and drinks where very good maybe the best we have ever had and it was a 2 min walk to the restaurant.
Overall a good holiday
Bad parts - we had 2 very hot and uncomfortable stays in the room as the air con did not work and we could not sleep at night , they moved us but not really a sorry it was move or stay but the room was 10min walk from the nice pool and bar (which we paid for £250 a night ) , and at the start off the holiday when we got our key they could off helped us where the room was or taken us on the golf buggy
This place is gleaming clean, the staff at the Royal level restaurant are fast, efficient and friendly. Special shout out to Ana. She’s a real “pocket rocket” I swear if she wasn’t there, the restaurant wouldn’t be able to cope without her...
Initially I was going to give a poor score to the Royal level as there’s no smart TV. The pools are not heated. The WiFi is patchy at best but my biggest gripe was when I asked for a gluten free menu to be told to see the chef. The chef pointed out all the meat on the grill was GF. Of course I knew this for myself already. The only offer was GF bread on request. Don’t get me wrong the choice at the restaurant is huge so I didn’t starve by no means. But I couldn’t eat pizza, pasta, pastries, crackers nor a cake. I was just expecting more. When i read reviews from others, they said a GF menu was provided. This was not the case for me. I was half board and the hotels pizzeria on the seafront doesn’t provide one single GF item. So I had to walk into the town every day for lunch to get a takeaway pizza as my wife has mobility issues. Would I stay here again? Not a chance. If you have dietary issues. I’d iron out what they are prepared to do as my experience was poor at best. Previous to our 6 nights at this hotel we stayed for the other eight nights in the same town at the Brocemar beach suites. A cheap 3* hotel with a large heated pool for those winter months and recently refitted. We chose self catering there and it was a massively cheaper hotel where everything was new along with that heated pool. I’m aware a part of the Barceló hotel has a small heated pool. It was really small and in need of a refit. I went there twice but couldn’t stand it due to its need of an upgrade.
