Great hotel, staff could be a little friendlier

Review by W9477LDterrys Swinton, United Kingdom

Booked 2 weeks before we left we were looking forward to break in the sun. I agree with the comments regarding showing the documents required to get into the island. It was officious but staff were understanding and although under pressure managed well...

This is more than the receptionist was. We arrived when the shop had closed as had the bar so after 9 hours of travel we couldn't make a cuppa or even a drink of water. The shop reopened at 9.30am. Apart from this minor inconvenience the hotel was clean, well appointed and quiet during the day. The pool was good, more than sufficient sunbeds and very clean. Only problem was the female night receptionist who did a passable impression of a rottweiler. Gruffly saying " bar is closed, restaurant is closed", not a great personality. Don't get me wrong it was a great break just needed a bit more customer care perhaps providing water and milk??? One for management? One thing that is not mentioned in a review is the constant traffic noise to guests in the bungalows in the 500's and 600's as the complex is alongside the main FV2 road, their equivalent to small motorway. I can cope with the hotel being on the flight path as noise is mainly in the day.

Hotel from Hell

Review by Olayie UK

We’ve lived on 3 continents and travelled for business and leisure and stayed in many places. This place is the worst (not one of, simply THE WORST) and touch wood will stay on the bottom for the rest of our lives.

Apart from food poisoning from the restaurant while I was pregnant with our first child, the lack of any interest to solve any problem from the management is really beyond comprehension...

Everyone working here is overworked and constantly multitasking. I wonder whether they are paid fairly for the hours they put in.... maybe it will explain the indifference and rudeness?

To sum up, this is a hotel from hell.

Lockdown Break Sept 2021

Review by MikefromManchester Manchester, United Kingdom

This review is for those worried about coronavirus restrictions.

Please ignore anyone who says 'they didn't check me going in or coming back' We are fully vaccinated and followed all the correct guidance, obtained all the correct information and booked the necessary tests in advance. because we did this and had all our paperwork to hand when we travelled, we appeared to sail through immigration/passports etc. But please be assured that we were checked...

It's a bit of a faff, but worth the trouble to get a good deal at this time. we saw one family being refused re-entry to the UK because they had not taken a recognised flow test 2 days before returning - I have absolutely no sympathy for them and the additional costs they incurred.

The hotel and resort are quiet (very quiet), our complex had approx 150 apartments with approx 30% in use. any time of the day, we could get sunbeds next to the pool. Several businesses are closed along with excursions. That said this suited us, we just wanted to relax. The local businesses are trying hard to portray that this is the norm but it clearly isn't.

The complex is clean and the staff very helpful.

Would I recommend the accommodation and resort? - yes Would I go now when it is quiet? - yes but this suits us. If you want karaoke, Irish bars, and la Bamber, don't go here.

Would I go again? the canaries, yes, this resort no. it is lovely but we have been there now and will try another resort next time.

THE SO CARING HOTEL

Review by edwardhrpr Airdrie, United Kingdom

My wife and I were supposed to be there from 11/09/21 - 25/09/21 but two days prior to returning home we went for our "covid" test and guess what, we were found positive for covid and therefore had to isolate in our hotel villa for a further 10 days. Well we had decided before the test that we would MOST CERTAINLY return to this hotel as the staff, the facilities and the food were all excellent, but when we had to isolate that is when the staff showed even more caring towards us. Nothing was a problem to them, they brought us our food and if we needed extras like water, milk etc they immediately provided us with it....

So all I can do is to THANK (MUCHOS GRATIAS) Natalia and her very hard working staff for everything that you and your staff did for my wife and I, it is much appreciated. Already booked for 25/05/22 - 08/06/22.. Cannot wait to get back and yet again have a fantastic holiday.. God Bless.
