Lovely hotel let down by not enough staff!

Review by 193shelleyd London, United Kingdom

First of all, this hotel is lovely. Really clean, covid safe (masks worn in all indoor spaces and loungers etc cleaned regularly). Food was always fresh and although not the most exciting, there was plenty of choices...

The view from the back of the hotel is stunning and only 15 mins walk to the beautiful beach. There is a small town 2 mins around the corner with plenty of bars and restaurants and very reasonable prices if you want a change. The only thing that lets this hotel down is there was regularly only 1 member of staff behind the bar in the evening meaning the queues were huge and took you ages to get a drink. The other staff cleaning up don’t seem to want to help. Saying that I would def return again!

Stunning sea views

Review by Victoria M Bolton, United Kingdom

Our room certainly had a wow factor. The view was stunning. Overlooking the sea. Yes check in was slow....

Obviously due to all extra paperwork due to covid. I admit could of done with few extra staff in some areas. Maybe this will resolve as the hotel continues at full capacity and more sunloungers will be added. The staff were so friendly and helpful and a total credit to the hotel..❤️ We always managed to find something to eat.. Yes predominantly pork /fish based but there was lots of other nice dishes such as paella.. Lasagne.. Salads..Hard to please everyone. I agree toaster in breakfast room not ideally located due to congestion.. Also guests walking back through the one way system does not help either. A bit of background music in courtyard area wouldn't go a miss in evening. All areas clean and tidy. Got our holiday for a fabulous price and understand things may not be running quite as "normal" Would happily return.

Not a 4 star

Review by StevieP0602 Stevenage, United Kingdom

Where to start….. so arrived here early afternoon for check in and had to wait 30 minutes in order to be seen to by receptionist staff. Only 1 person on the reception desk with a queue of 4-5 people waiting to be served...

Was this a hint of things to come?

My room was on the top floor overlooking the sea. Beautiful views, room very modern. Only complaint is the water leaks through the shower door onto the bathroom floor.

In terms of the all inclusive bar, similar to the reception desk, there was only ever 1 person serving drinks. Queues would form and you would have to wait for 10-15 minutes for a drink. Great stuff.

During our stay we experienced an abusive couple drunk and looking to cause trouble. This happened on two nights with one night the police being called - the hotel never removed the couple and allowed them to stay. My immediate thoughts were how did they get drunk on the all inclusive?!? Must have jumped the queue!

Be warned during the day the hotel try to close the pool bar at 17:45 with the main bar opening at 18:00. We politely reminded the bar staff that drinks should be available from 11am to 11pm and they served us drinks.

Talking of the pool bar snacks are limited. They occasionally serve cheese toasties, hotdogs and have doughnuts available. That’s it.

The sun bed situation is farcical. The usual chaos in the morning with people reserving sun beds early in the morning. On our third day the rule was changed so you could not put towels out until 9am then the rule was scrapped for the rest of our holiday. The hotel seem to make up the rules as they go along. Due to the hotels strict covid rules (which may please the do good’ers in this world) there is not enough sun beds for everyone. Sun beds are spread out across the pool and the sun terrace to maintain social distancing, fair enough, however this means half the hotel go without a sun bed. Not sure spending money on a holiday I should then feel obliged to go spend 20 euros a day on the beach for a sun bed!

Swimming pools are nice especially the infinity pool however they are both freezing. Advice to the hotel - maybe crank up the temperature in the pools by a couple of degrees, will make the whole experience a bit better.

If you made it this far on my review, well done, this is the worse bit. The restaurant food is terrible and the covid happy layout is even worse! Food is lukewarm, had to use a microwave on numerous occasions to nuke my food. Selection of food is awful, every lunch and evening is pork and / or fish. We had one good meal which was at lunchtime when the hotel had a BBQ on the sun terrace. We told the waiter it was really nice and asked if this would be done again and he laughed and said no. The one way system in the restaurant is a joke. What makes it even funnier is the hotel staff don’t even follow it - then why should the guests? The layout at breakfast is terrible. I would probably say 70-80% of guests have toast at breakfast - bearing this in mind the hotel put the toaster at the start of the entrance to the restaurant causing queues backing up and everyone being on top of each other. So we’re not allowed to sit next to each other outside by the pool however Covid stays at the restaurant front door and doesn’t come inside the restaurant. Pathetic.

The hotel was advertised as having ‘relaxed entertainment to keep you amused’, this was non existent. During our week stay we saw a magic act which was more like a terrible comedy act - that was it. Nothing on during the day, nothing to do in the evening besides queue at the bar waiting to be served. The only entertainment you will get is the hotel next door playing music which you can hear on the sun terrace - about as good as it gets!

In summary this hotel is never a 4 star, I’ve stayed in plenty of better 3 star hotels. In my opinion because of covid and to save money the hotel has really cut back on everything, eg no evening entertainment so you go outside of the hotel.

Would I recommend it to anyone? Unless you’re a hermit and want to stay in your room then absolutely, if you’re like me and actually want to use the hotel facilities then it’s a massive no from me.

DO NOT COME to this hotel if you want to lay-by the pool!!!

Review by 256libbym Southampton, United Kingdom

Absolute joke of a hotel! There is not enough sun beds for the amount of guests they have staying so everyday there is an argument around the pool. Due to Covid they have limited the amount of beds which is understandable but they have not limited the intake of guests so unless you put your towels out on the beds at 8am you won’t get one!

Then if you are lucky enough to get a bed and leave it to go have lunch you will come back to your stuff in black bin liners and no bed. There is a life guard at the pool who acts more like a security sun bed patrol and it is ludicrous the amount of arguments he has caused...

I’ve only been here 2 days and will never come back again. This has been the most stressful holiday so far 😢
