Ok so we have stayed at many Sheratons across the world including Sharm, Edinburgh, Dubai, Greece and this was no way the standard of the usual Sheraton. It was a short break and something I looked forward to as I’m a full time carer and it was my yearly respite.
Firstly, the room was beautiful and big. Housekeeping was not good, we had ants, fridge didn’t work entire stay, beds were not made, towels not changed etc. we complained and manager sent us a bottle of Prosecco. However, fridge was broken entire time. My milk I had purchased from the supermarket was sour, and then I found out why!
Secondly, we was full board. The restaurant buffet was awful, we got down at 8pm and there was barely any food left, we ended up eating cheese and biscuits.
The pools didn’t open until 10am which was very odd as many people were up waiting for towel man to appear. 10am height of summer is not on and closing pool at 6pm is also too early.
The Veranda food again was awful, starters of foccacia with goats cheese was actually cheese toastie and chips and onion rings for a starter, the carrot was definitely off as had the vinegar smell (not dressing). We was never offered table water and when we asked for it was only given bottles at 10 euros a bottle!
It was not up to any Sheraton standard. When we complained when leaving to Alena public relations (we was told to report to her), she didn’t even offer us a free drink. Just nodded and didn’t even bother explaining. She just said sorry and that was it. Poor as we had to wait 2 hours for a taxi to take us to airport, and she could’ve offered us a free coffee.
I save up all year for this short break, we are both Marriot members and this is absolutely not the service we would expect. Shame as pools were beautiful, excellent location and the man on reception when we checked in was very sweet.
The waiters are mostly incompetent, unprofessional and could easily take a spade elsewhere rather than waist the ought-to-be-decent image of the hotel. In fact, there is one member of the waiter staff who is apparently not suitable for this service. I have addressed the issue for 3 mornings in the row June 14 th through June 16th to no tangible avail. How could a member of Marriott Bonvoy hotels afford itself to hire a person who allows himself to mock the guests in front other guests just because they dared to complain to the duty manager about the low and annoying standard of service provided by the waiter during breakfast? We had the similar issue with the same waiter in 2023, but nth had changed since. Moreover, the particular waiter staff member has a notable influence for other waiters and we experience a purposeful unattendance of our table during breakfast whenever that particular waiter is on duty. That's ridiculous for the sake of the hotel. I think the person might have already been transferred somewhere else by now in any other Marriott chain hotel. I hope the hotel will evaluate the behaviour of the waiter and may also hire more women for the role since they are naturally more helpful and attentive. It's really embarrassing to feel as if you are in a cheap Turkish hotel while geographically being in the opposite direction, thanks to carelessly chosen staff for simple jobs as waiting service.
We had a wonderful stay at Shearton Fuerteventura and cannot thank the staff enough for making our holiday so special.
A huge thank you to the fantastic Public Relations team, who went above and beyond to arrange all of my son's meals to suit his restricted diet. Their care and attention gave us complete peace of mind.
The chefs were absolutely amazing, preparing delicious meals and always making sure my son was well looked after.
The entertainment and activity team were also brilliant.
Our sons were genuinely heartbroken to leave – they both cried when it was time to go! That says everything about how memorable and special our experience was. We can't wait to come back!
It was our first visit to the island and to this hotel. As someone who is quite particular about restaurants, I had a few doubts at first. However, I can honestly say that the hotel exceeded all our expectations.
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a lovely gentleman who immediately made us feel at home. The staff throughout our stay were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always willing to help.
Our room was absolutely stunning, with a beautiful direct sea view. Although it was a little further from reception, this didn’t bother us at all.
We dined at Los Arcos Buffet three times during our stay, and I have to say that the Asian-themed evening was my favourite. We also visited the Piano Bar every night for drinks. The staff there were attentive and welcoming, and the cocktails were excellent.
The location was perfect for us. The hotel is right on the beachfront, with a supermarket just a five-minute walk away and several shops nearby. The busier resort area is around a 20-minute walk away, which meant the evenings were peaceful and relaxing.
I know some reviews mention the airplanes flying overhead, but we actually found it quite interesting to watch, and the noise did not bother us at all.
We would definitely return and would highly recommend this resort to our friends and family.
