Taurito

The Mogan Princess and Beach Club resort is superbly situated on a hillside in the heart of Playa de Taurito and offers spectacular ocean views over the Atlantic. This four-star hotel boasts an enviable position with the beach just a fifteen-minute walk away or you can hop on the hotel's free shuttle bus.

The pools here take centre stage with all three fresh water swimming pools offering amazing views of the ocean. One of the pools is heated over winter so you can swim all year round, and there is also a poolside bar for those who want to bask in the sun with an ice cold beverage or delicious snack.

Accommodation and facilities at the Mogan Princess:

Rooms are spacious and come with furnished balconies offering incredible ocean views, ensuring you make the most of the Spanish sun. The rooms are also equipped with a fridge (at a fee), cable TV, telephone, safe (at a fee), air-conditioning and bathroom with a bath and shower. Family superior rooms are available at a supplement.

After-dinner drinks and live acts including professional singers, dancers and performers offer great entertainment during the evenings in the lounge bar. The hotel also runs its own mini club for children aged 5 -12.

The international buffet restaurant not only offers amazing views but also a selection of freshly grilled meats, live cooking stations and an array of themed dinners from all over the world.

In Playa Taurito you will be spoilt for choice for things to do, take to the chutes at Taurito waterpark or visit Europe's only permanent moonlight cinema. Explore Gran Canaria's prettiest harbour town, Puerto Mogan, by hopping on the hotel's shuttle bus. This fishing town is lined with traditional whitewashed houses, picturesque gardens and relaxing sea-water channels earning it its 'Little Venice' nickname.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Review by DarrenGriffiths South Wales

Located high up steep 20% climb which takes at least 20 minutes from the beach/shops, not ideal for families or other guests who like to explore and spend a lot of time at the beach. All staff are generally quite rude especially the bar staff who try to close the bars early and seem to speak to one another about the guests. No car parking facilities so don't bother renting a car or you will have to leave at the bottom every time also the bus shuttle service is infrequent and pretty crowded...

Taurito itself is very quiet and the road over to Mogan is currently closed due to landslide so travelling is limited. Food etc is ok with the usual free for all at meal times. On a plus side the hotel and guests all treat the current covid rules very seriously and the hotel is kept clean and always hygienic. The poolside entertainment was good with one or two members being excellent namely Uri.

Fantastic Hotel

Review by Anji R Doncaster, United Kingdom

We have just returned from this amazing hotel and would like to say everything was spot on. The staff across all areas were courteous and helpful. The bar staff were attentive and couldn’t have been anymore friendly...

We spent most of our days on the beautiful beach and had food and drinks from the beach bar which were all part of our all inclusive package. We would definitely return to this hotel and would like to thank Monika on reception for printing out our paperwork for returning back to the Uk. Weather was amazing.

What can I say

Review by MrsCWPrestonLancs PRESTON LANCS

Just returned from a weeks break at this amazing hotel. From check in to check out nothing was too much trouble for the staff. we checked in at 9.15 in the evening dinner finished at 9.30 so shown down to the restaurant and then checked in after a meal...

Great selection of menu even though close to closing. We had paid for upgrade of all inc before leaving UK queried colour of bracelet which soon changed when realised a mistake had been made. All staff very professional and attentive, my husband walks with a stick and all staff made sure he was able to gets his food etc. Hotel spotless rooms very comfortable. Only drawback perhaps a varied choice of entertainment jugglers and acrobats three nights in a row not everyones cup of tea. Daily bus to the beach which also had a beach bar that is all inc. Market trip on a friday (needs to be booked as only get on with a ticket) would we go back too right we would.

Stairs, stairs and stairs.

Review by SorensodDK Slagelse, Denmark

In a way this hotel is ok. Not quite 4 stars. Located in a very hilly area...

Rooms are fine. The wiev perfect and the staff very friendly and helpful. The food is not good, not bad. Just food. The restaurant is noisy like a sports arena. Pool area fine. But it feels like a marathon to walk all these stairs. There was 275 stairs from our room on the top floor and down to the pool area. Yes there are lifts. But only 4 floors at a time. Then you'll have to walk the hole floor to the other end to reach a new lift. The architect must have had a bad day. Sorry to say. But I won't come back. Just because of the stairs

Stairs and hotel design spoil what could be a good hotel

Review by NJB227 Bideford, United Kingdom

Nice staff, food is great and entertainment good. Good options for all tastes at lunch and dinner. Drinks however were quite poor...

The cocktails are made with aspartame flavoured artificial juice and the local brands are not great. For example the “Baileys” is super sweet and not great. You can pay 12 euros extra for branded drinks which would be worth it. It is a long way off being a four star hotel but a reasonable 3 star apart from the issue of the hotel design detailed below. We paid a very reasonable discounted price so on balance it was OK.

Two things that really let the hotel down are 1) the location up a steep road 1km from the beach. We could live with this and there is a free bus but it is infrequent. Taxis are cheap and the beach is lovely but worth knowing 2) The design of the hotel is a major issue. We were on the very top floor 270 steps from the dining room. Because of the way that the hotel is designed it is not possible to get a lift all the way up. From the dining room it was 4 lifts plus stairs or a long walk in between every lift. It really is ridiculous and does spoil the experience as it is a major expedition to pop back to the room. The room had an amazing view. Definitely insist on a low floor. The hotel needs a major investment in an escalator to serve all floors.

In the room next to us there were some people who didn’t come out of their room. They had food delivered at meal times and towels and bedding left. The plates were left outside after. We suspect that they were isolating due to covid as we could hear them coughing all the time. They used the balcony next to us and there was an interconnecting door which was locked but had gaps. Although we are vaccinated we did feel a bit uneasy about this and we tended not to use the balcony, which was a shame because the view is amazing. I would only visit again if we were guaranteed a low floor.
