Beautiful Resort

Review by Lehannnea

Amenities were great. Staff were terrific especially the Reception staff, the Waiting staff and the Cleaning staff. Hotel was sparkling clean which in the age of Corona virus is of huge importance...

Rooms and entire hotel was cleaned to a very high standard every day during our stay from the 10th to the 15th March 2020. Meals in the restaurant were very good quality. Tenerife went into lockdown on the 15th March but we still got to airport and back home to Ireland without a problem. We would recommend this hotel to all family and friends. We cannot wait to return👍 This is a family oriented hotel which will appeal to those who like a peaceful/tranquil vibe. It might not appeal to those who expect to party 24/7.... The sea view from our room was amazing. The hotel is only a five minute walk from the Puerto de La Cruz waterfront with it's cafés, tapas bars and high end stores.

Dress code needs to be precise

Review by maltaguy Greater London, United Kingdom

Just returned from the San Felipe . This is our 6th time at this Hotel. As usual the service was excellent . Gemma was very friendly and Helpful when we arrived . The only things to mention are. They bathrooms need a bit of updating but are spotless . The cleaning staff work so hard as does all the staff. Our big moan is the dress code in the restaurant for our evening meal. We saw men in scruffy jean shorts being allowed in as well as men in sport shorts...

It was a particularly hot week . We did not bring smart tailored shorts for the evening as we have been turned away twice before. So this disappointed myself and my partner. There were also ladies with all I could say” with not a lot of clothes on” I believe if people are allowed to dress this way people might not return to the San Felipe . The food is always good but I believe a more varied vegetarian option could be improved. The waiting staff are always pleasant and friendly. Room tip. The mountain side gets all the sun from 9am and it can become very hot if sitting on the balcony. The sea view get no sun after. But is a respite if too hot. Once again thank you to Gemma and all the staff at the San Felipe

Good Hotel

Review by deez_nutts_0o0 Swindon, United Kingdom

We spent 10 days over the February half term. No complaints at all about this hotel. The location is perfect for exploring Puerto de la Cruz...

The hotel is very nice and the grounds well kept. The pool was very nice and heated to 24c.

Food is very nice and varied - lots of fish and meat. My only complaint is that they dont have one premium whiskey on AI. Table service at night is a nice touch.

The clientelle tends to be mostly older German couples - in fact most of Puerto de la Cruz is geared towards German. There's entertainment every night - mostly solo singers, but on some nights they had proper acts which were very good.

The new entertainment team led by Ivan is doing a good job with the Kids club and livening things up around the pool with games.

If you get an ocean facing room you can see the paragliders in the afternoon doing their thing. Keep in mind the waves can get a bit loud at times if you are a light sleeper.

Perfect Short Break

Review by carmeleddie Flint, United Kingdom

Just returned from a short break to this hotel. Having stayed in this hotel 20 years ago, I knew the location could not be better. Upon arrival we were allocated a very nice room on floor P, unfortunately due to work going on above, the balcony was covered with scaffolding which made it feel very claustrophobic...

We immediately asked to be relocated, which the reception staff were very happy to do. Our new room was on the 8th floor and was considerably smaller, however this was not a problem for a 4 night stay. Our stay was excellent, the staff including reception, bar, restaurant and chamber maids were without exception 1st class, very friendly and efficient, a credit to the hotel. The food was also excellent, some of the best I have eaten in Spain. All in all, an enjoyable experience, many thanks.

Excellent stay on the coast

Review by jimmR6663ZX Irvine, Scotland, United Kingdom

We thoroughly enjoyed our half-board stay. The staff throughout the hotel are excellent and the hotel is in a great location on the coast (photo shows view from balcony on 14th floor) with great coastal walks and close to bars, shops and restaurants. The buffet restaurant was excellent with plenty if variety and we were impressed with the sensible pricing of bottles of wine at dinner...

The pools and pool area were superb behind the hotel in a sun haven with landscaped garden and cliffs around it. Only thing we missed were tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
