Definitely not four star!

Review by Lisa M Nottingham, England, United Kingdom

The food offered for British cuisine lovers consisted of brussel sprouts and boiled potatoes! All other food was more for Spanish and German. In fact, it was music to our ears when we heard English spoken. Yes you go away to a foreign land and should explore the culture, food etc...

however, when your offered sweet & sour pork in a watery sauce and then have brussell sprouts and boiled potatoes then the concoction of food on your plate becomes very weird. The brussell sprouts were too hard to eat and the potatoes were cooked on the outside but still hard in the middle, the sweet & sour pork looked and tasted like cat! We also picked this hotel as it was a four star but this is definitely not that, more 3 star. Pool bar staff were not happy or helpful and you were made to feel like you were bothering them as they stood in the back closet talking to each other. There is a tall guy, beard and always happy in the restaurant, he is the only one who will bend over backwards to help you with anything. Also this hotel has no problem with making sandwiches, for the pool bar, and never showing the bread any butter or margarine. In the restaurant, you have to track down a member of staff and ask where the packs are as they keep moving. If you like German language and food then this is the hotel for you. I will not return here but the only saving grace is the location, straight facing a shopping mall, you can do this in 5-10 mins at most of the shops don’t open, and you are around a 4 minute walk to the seafront/esplanade where all the shops and restaurants are. Cafe de Paris is an excellent restaurant that cater for all nationalities and taste buds. They had live music on at the weekend but the staff are very gracious and remember you if you return.

Very Impressed!

From a welcome to check-in at 11pm after our transfer to the exceptional food and waiting service (specifically Enriquez), we had an amazing time. The pool was a decent enough size with a stunning suntrap around it. The location was amazing - so close to the beaches and town with a stunning view and a mercadona nearby for your every need! Very happy and impressed by the hotel and it's staff.

Great location, average hotel

Review by Lisajo73 Nerja, Spain

We (my husband, 17 year old son and myself) stayed at the hotel for 11 nights from early June. Hotel is clean and well located in Puerto de la Cruz which is a lovely place. We had chosen AI, however felt a little disappointed. The food was repetitive, great if you enjoy pork, paella or fish dishes...

The fruit and salad choices were good. In previous AI hotels we have stayed in you had some great options within the pool bar and a snack menu to order from, but here there was no menu. To drink you could choose soft drinks, tea/coffee or local spirits, beers or ready prepared cocktails. Food on offer was melon, made sandwiches or bacon, sausage and hash browns which were kept in a food warmer from around 10am-3pm. Late afternoon they would bring out burgers or sausages. The room was spacious however the air conditioning was useless. It was cooler to sit on the balcony or hallway. On our final day we were unable to pay the €30 for a late checkout as the hotel was fully booked, so checked out of our room by midday. When asking for 3 x diet cokes at the pool bar, was then told we had to purchase them as our holiday was over!

Epic Hotel and place.

Me and my gf read the reviews here and we decided to come along. A lot of reviews said the food was meh but so far we have been incredibly impressed with the the standard of food coming out. We were all inclusive and it was very much worth it...

Everything they serve is delicious and there is food for everyone. It is easy to get carried away with the food so I would recommend don’t over serve yourself if you want some brilliant deserts

It’s very family friendly but also good for couples who want a nice getaway. The staff have been nothing but friendly and amazing and the waiters do take interest in how their guests are doing. Both the indoor and pool bar do amazing drinks and slushies, you’ll find it hard to order a drink they don’t do.

The room we got was on the corner of the 4th floor and we had an amazing view of the mountains as well as the street below and the black sand beach which is just down the street.

There’s a free road train down the opposite side that goes straight to Loro Parque too which is about 15 mins away, perfect for those who love wildlife.

The pool and sun bed area some may find a little small, however since we went during a school term, they weren’t too busy so we got some good use out of them and we never had to fight for sun beds. There’s a small toddler pool in which I’ve seen little ones love and enjoy.

Overall, I would strongly recommend this hotel. Could not fault it at all.

Be live orotava hotel

Review by ndrwwarner Welwyn Garden City, United Kingdom

Food was very repetitive pork lions for breakfast no omelettes at breakfast the rooms are very dated and pool clearly not big enough to house the number of rooms this hotel has wouldn't go back as very poor value for money also once you check out and they cut your band off be careful as they will try and charge you if you have anything to eat or drink
