Set in a lush oasis of palm trees, La Pirogue looks like a Mauritian fishing village. The distinctive cone-shaped, thatched roofs are clustered around the seashore at the edge of lush vegetation. This isn't a fishing village of course - it's an incredible 4 star hotel - and there's plenty of wonderfully fresh fish on offer in the superb restaurants.

You'll never be short of things to do at La Pirogue. The vast swimming pool is an absolute delight. Impeccably designed and fringed by palms, it is one of the hotel's biggest attractions.
The restaurants are high up that list too. From the beach bar to the main restaurant, the chefs and bartenders at La Pirogue work hard to give you a mouth-watering selection of food and drink. You'll enjoy lots of fresh ingredients and a great range of flavours. (And for even more choice, three additional restaurants are available to guests at the Sugar Beach Hotel.)
La Pirogue is well equipped for sports and fitness fans. Naturally, water sports are popular - and there are lots of opportunities for you to enjoy the wonderfully clean, warm water, whether you're a novice or a pro-scuba diver.
You can enjoy games from mini golf to volleyball - and there's a full fitness centre on site. We also recommend the spa - an essential ingredient of a truly relaxing Mauritius holiday.
One final but very important factor is your room. All Standard Garden View rooms (from August 2017 Garden Bungalows) are at ground level, with terraces leading straight out into the beautiful palm groves. There is full air conditioning and additional amenities include satellite TV, telephone, hairdryer, safe, mini bar and drinks making facilities. Room upgrades such as Beach Pavilions are also available at a supplement.
You'll never tire of the sight of that perfect white sandy beach, or the deep blue sea; La Pirogue really does enjoy a perfect secluded spot on the West coast of Mauritius.

Le Morne Restaurant, superb!!
Le Morne, the restaurant at La Pirogue, was the highlight of our stay. Great food, lovely atmosphere and, above all, outstanding service. A special mention for Leanne: attentive, warm and always smiling, she remembered our preferences and was wonderful with our little daughter. Thanks to her we came back several evenings. Highly recommended!
Great stay at La pirogue.
It was truly a memorable and exceptional experience, with amazing food, outstanding service, and breathtaking scenery that made everything fall perfectly into place. A very special mention must be made of Mr. Amrish, the Resort Manager, whose warmth, kindness, and exceptional helpfulness made our stay even more enjoyable. He went above and beyond to ensure that everything was taken care of and that we felt genuinely welcomed and valued. His professionalism, genuine care truly stood out and left a lasting impression on us. We are sincerely grateful to Mr. Amrish and the entire team for making our experience so wonderful, special, and unforgettable.

First time at La Pirogue, had an excellent experience over there. The service was outstanding, the staff were welcoming and attentive, and everything was clean, comfortable, and well organised. Enjoyed the food especially the desserts. Amrish J did a magnificent job, especially as we were there for a birthday dinner. He added his personal touch to this dinner. The atmosphere was lovely, and we truly enjoyed our time there. Great time on the dance pitch. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to visit again! ❤️

Absolutely lovely buffet experience! ✨ The food was fresh, flavourful, and offered a nice variety of dishes to suit different tastes. The ambience was beautiful and relaxing, making the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. The staff were welcoming and attentive throughout. Amrish J, did a magnificent job, especially we were there for birthday dinner, he added his personal touch to this dinner.
