Sugar Beach Resort and Spa

Mauritius, Indian Ocean

The Sugar Beach Hotel is set in palatial grounds in Wolmar, Mauritius. Enclosed in its own grove of palm trees, the Sugar Beach Hotel feels wonderfully removed from the rest of the word, but the thriving port of St Louis is close by. Beyond the manicured gardens the resort extends to the beach which boasts half a kilometre of perfect white sand.

Enjoy a superb, secluded setting with unspoilt beach at the Sugar Beach Hotel:

There are lots of wonderful facilities to enjoy here including a fully-equipped fitness centre, tennis courts and some great opportunities for water sports and scuba diving.* There are also some great trails to explore through the trees and further out into the island - and you can hire bicycles* at the hotel to help you get about.

Access to the incredible spa, complete with Turkish bath (or hammam) is another perk of staying at the Sugar Beach Hotel. And another good reason to take things easy and go with the flow.

With four bars and three restaurants at the Sugar Beach Hotel, you'll want to leave plenty of time to relax and enjoy your meals too. From the genteel surroundings of the Citronella Café to the stylish pool-side surroundings of the Mon Plasir Bar, a week will just give you enough time to sample the delights of each. But why not stay longer?

You'll want plenty of time to enjoy your room. Standard Garden View are air conditioned and elegantly furnished with a balcony or terrace, rooms continue the plantation theme with use of real wood and complementary colours. All rooms are en suite and come with LCD flat-screen satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, safe and hairdryer. You could also choose to upgrade to a selection of beautiful rooms including those with a seaview or a beachfront room.

There's a lovely laidback feeling at the Sugar Beach Hotel. Perhaps it's the warm climate - people just want to relax and enjoy life here without all the usual hustle and bustle. Perhaps it's the look of the place. The palms, the architecture and the smart rooms all help suggest a slower pace of life.

Nice Sunday Spent.

Review by ehadb2021

The hotel facilities looks aged and it's very sad to see that hotels which were full of life are now struggling to have a decent atmosphere. Let me reassure you the facilities without people is just infrastructure.

The pool is really nice...

Huge and has a proper kids corner. Fazle, Curtis, the woman working at the boutique and the second in command were very hospitable and accommodating. The food at Budha Bar however I think can be improved.

Overall I spent a nice Sunday with my 2 kids and wife.

Worse customer service experience

Review by Jocelyn100759

The floor of the two pools was very slippery and my husband had an accident in the Quiet pool. The incident was reported to the hotel nurse. He was suffering from pain, swelling, and deformity in his right wrist and forearm...

X-rays showed a displaced comminuted fracture. An arm cast was applied to immobilize the limb. He had to keep same for 6 weeks.
