It was an absolutely wonderful stay , we only stayed one night but the food was amazing and the hotel is so beautifully made. Marshall is the absolute best, such an icon. Exceeded all expectations
Stunning hotel overlooking the beach. 4 amazing pools, obviously we liked the swim up bar pool. Amazing choice of food and drink. Lovely lovely staff, help, knowledgeable and patient
The cleanest, friendliest hotel we have ever stayed in. All staff on every level were happy, helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Huge variety of food choices.
Lovely stay at the hotel. Great friendly staff very welcoming and attentive especially the restaurant staff. Great food across all restaurants, lovely steaks although could only choose the main course and not alter the starters or sweet. Not really a problem as the starter was lovely and the staff would serve you ice cream from the buffet restaurant if you asked which is great flexible customer service. Pool areas all clean and tidy and well maintained, pool towels exchangeable every day. Plenty of sun beds and options for sun or shade. Lovely jewellery shop with very knowledgeable staff and great quality items. Good gift shop that also sold sun care and aloe vera plus snacks crisps and chocolate. Bars and drinks very drinkable but not branded alcohol and very small glasses for G&T, but the staff remembered your favourite tipple and provided table service with frequent top ups. Nice spa and gym, clean, tidy and relaxing. Treatments were expensive in the spa, but other guests had gone outside the hotel and found local Sri Lankan solutions. Rooms were fine, clean and comfortable plenty of space and storage, fridge and tea and coffee plus water and soft drinks replaced daily if wanted. Housekeeping was good, non intrusive, quick and done to a high standard every day. The overnight food and drink bar was limited in terms of food but I had the hot dogs one night and they were great. Lovely for a hot chocolate before bedtime and if you asked they were very accommodating with the alcohol. Take care walking around the public areas the floor tiles are beautiful but very slippery in the hot wet humid climate. The staff are constantly sweeping etc but I nearly went arse over tit every day - maybe it was just my shoes! There’s nothing not to like about this hotel - it’s not a Riu Palace so set your expectations accordingly - overall it was great value for money and a very pleasant stay. Sri Lanka is a lovely country so do get out and about and take time to visit some of the attractions and culture it’s well worth it.
