Or you may prefer something a little less esoteric. The Samudra Kovalam benefits from its very own beer parlour – and that's definitely worth a visit too.
If you want to mix relaxing days on the beach with a bit of exploring, then the Samudra Kovalam is an excellent choice. It's really well placed for getting out and about and enjoying a little bit more of the spectacular Keralan countryside.
Returning home to your comfortable hotel is always a treat. Why not start the evening off with a cooling drink followed by one of the great selection of in-house movies which offer a great night in – that's assuming you're not tempted to take an evening stroll along the beach.
Your deluxe en suite room will be fully air conditioned and most feature a balcony or terrace. Just get in touch if you'd like to confirm that. You'll have a TV and telephone too of course, and a great outlook over the hotel garden and pool.
The Samudra Kovalam provides wonderfully tranquil accommodation – a perfect antidote to the stresses of modern life. With its spectacular setting and easy-access to more of Kerala it's an excellent base for your holiday.

Samudra when translated into English means 'the ocean' and the Samudra Kovalam resort certainly lives up to this name offering a calm and serene atmosphere and bordering a fantastic beach this hotel is the perfect base in which to experience Kerala.

Stay was good other than food
Rooms neat and clean. Helping staff. Food is average.we stayed here for two days, but we had best buffet dinner in Uday Samudra hotel which is very nearer to KTDC Samudra. Rates are similar in both hotels except food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is excellent in Uday Samudra
Dissastification of the Stay
We had booked a one‑day Premium Sea View room stay from March 25th to March 26th (double occupancy) through Travocoaster based in Delhi, with the booking completed via Spice Land Tour and Travel Company in Kochi.
Apart from the sea view, there was nothing satisfactory about this property. Considering the charges of ₹9,000–10,000 for this room category, the experience did not feel like a luxury resort at all. More importantly, the amenities in the room and washroom were not up to the mark.
I would strongly not recommend this property. At this price point, one can easily find a proper 5‑star property that delivers far better quality and comfort.
I sincerely request that you take this feedback seriously and ensure such misleading room categories and substandard experiences are not offered to future travelers
Wonderful location with friendly and helpful staff.
This is the 4th time we have stayed at this hotel which is a recommendation in itself. The location, right on the beach is spectacuiar and many of the rooms have sea views, it is woth paying extra for one pf these I should particularly mention the friendly and helpful staff imcluding the gardeners and cleaning ladies in their attractive uniforms

Good food and good atmosphere and was a wonderful experience on the beach. I also had a great view of the ocean. Needs more food options

..One need to be lucky to get a great view room. Not possible to reach Kovalam beach from this property, as no beach access.
