Samudra Kovalam

India, Indian Subcontinent
Kovalam

The sun-kissed Samudra Kovalam is close to the famous Kovalam beach, but also boasts its very own stretch of beach and stunning views out to sea. Indeed, 'Samudra' actually means 'the ocean'. And there's a real feeling that the Samudra Kovalam relaxed atmosphere comes of being so very close to the sea. There's a different pace of life here – a calming ebb and flow – making this the perfect place to relax.

The Samudra Kovalam's spectacular views and tranquillity make for a really relaxed holiday:

With the emphasis on relaxation, why not treat yourself to a traditional Ayurveda therapy treatment? It'll leave you feeling wonderfully 'in-tune' and ready for anything. Or you may prefer something a little less esoteric. The Samudra Kovalam benefits from its very own beer parlour – and that's definitely worth a visit too.

If you want to mix relaxing days on the beach with a bit of exploring, then the Samudra Kovalam is an excellent choice. It's really well placed for getting out and about and enjoying a little bit more of the spectacular Keralan countryside.

Returning home to your comfortable hotel is always a treat. Why not start the evening off with a cooling drink followed by one of the great selection of in-house movies which offer a great night in – that's assuming you're not tempted to take an evening stroll along the beach.

Your deluxe en suite room will be fully air conditioned and most feature a balcony or terrace. Just get in touch if you'd like to confirm that. You'll have a TV and telephone too of course, and a great outlook over the hotel garden and pool.

The Samudra Kovalam provides wonderfully tranquil accommodation – a perfect antidote to the stresses of modern life. With its spectacular setting and easy-access to more of Kerala it's an excellent base for your holiday.

Amazing getaway

We stayed at this hotel very conveniently located on Kovalam beach with tranqulity of their private beach. We enjoyed it thoroughly from food location and excellent service. Their Manager Mr Vinukumar was at hand and personally made sure we had a comfortable and relaxing stay.On our first night we experienced a hard mattress and inform reception about it and quickly Mr Vinukumar attended to our needs and made the rest of our stay comfortable and memorable...

The breakfast was typical southern Indian Kerala cuisine that it changes everyday and we look forward to it.We even noted more than 10 long term guests that has been staying at the Samudra for a continuous 3/4 months. It goes to show the hospitality made one not wanting to leave.❤️🧡💛💚💙💜Thank you from tge bottom of our heart for naking our stay special and we are back again after 10 days😘😘😘😘

Pleasant and relaxed stay.....!!!!

Review by ManishsharmatravelsMumbai, India

we have stayed in the property on 25th and 26th February 2020. Best part about the property is the location, right on the beach. It is well maintained property...

staff is very courteous. Front desk people were helpful and check in and check out is smooth. Offered a welcome drink also on arrival. Were given a ground floor beach facing room. rooms are spacious and is in good condition. Property is old, but is maintained well.

Breakfast is good and have a nice spread. Dinner is not available in à la carte all the days, it depends upon the occupancy and if you still need to eat à la carte, then you need to order room service.

They has an adult and kid swimming pool with attendant during operating hours. The grass lawns in front of rooms are really good and nicely maintained. Way to beach is paved and a security guard at the gate near beach.

Overall a very relaxed and satisfied stay and a good place to stay.

Great Location, Friendly Staff

Review by 416jeevankBangalore

Samudra has a great location. The rooms are sea-facing and provide a good view of the beach and sea. Our room was spacious and comfortable...

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Both check-in and check-out were smooth. But we were unhappy about a few things: 1. The approach gate to the beach is shut in the evening, for security reasons, which may be a good thing, but this should be informed during check-in time, to avoid disappointment. 2. The Swimming Pool opens as late as 7.00 am, by which time the sun is out. 3. The food is no great shakes. I ordered a Fish Dish wrapped and cooked in banana leaf, which was served dripping in oil! 4. The room balconies have no privacy. Occupants of neighbouring rooms can actually cross the wall and enter into your balcony!
