Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort

Our recent stay at Le Méridien was a nightmare, marked most dramatically by a terrifying security failure when an apparently drunk or high individual roamed the lobby and attacked female guests—leaving my child too terrified to sleep—while management stood by and did nothing to intervene. Beyond the safety hazard, basic hospitality was completely absent; staff were blatantly rude and only offered respectful service once cash was placed directly into their pockets. To make matters worse, we were unfairly accused of violating policies despite having an all-inclusive package, the food was practically inedible with a miserable dessert selection, and chaotic waiters were double-charging guests at the beach.

We have just spent 4 days at this hotel. Overall our experience was good. Recently renovated rooms are beautiful. A lot has been put into the decor and it really is fantastic! We stayed in a suite and it was very pleasant and spacious. Staff throughout the hotel were friendly, helpful and efficient. Especially Joey at the Views restaurant, he was always making sure the standards of the restaurant were kept high, he was always busy, very present and attentive. The only downside to the dining experience is not enough indoor restaurants for this time of year. Summer time with high humidity and limited options for dining indoors. Astro bar was closed for renovation, maybe if this was open it would have gave another option. Our club lounge experience was disappointing. If you were a paying guest for lounge I believe you would be very disappointed compared to other lounge experiences throughout the Bonvoy collection. Afternoon tea starts late afternoon 4-5pm and falls into evening happy hour 5-7pm. Although the options for afternoon tea were very good, evening canopies were poor and hardly worth it. Also last orders were called at 6:35pm. It felt like we were being rushed out. The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout! We would definitely visit again but maybe in cooler months so we could enjoy the outdoors dining.
