Cuba Travel Advice

Entry requirements differ by country. The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) issues country specific travel advice including Health, Visa and Vaccination requirements.

Entry requirements

All travellers

• Entry requirements can change on short notice. Check with your airline for the most up-to-date information.
• From 6 April 2022, UK travellers don't require a COVID-19 vaccination certificate or a negative COVID-19 test.
• All travellers must complete a Health Declaration (Declaracíon Jurada de Sanidad) online before travel.

Passport validity

• Your passport should be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the date of entry into Cuba.

Visa requirements

General

• Tourists need to obtain a tourist card before travelling. This can be applied for via the Cuban Embassy in London or through your travel agent or tour operator.

• Dual nationals are advised to seek advice from the Cuban Embassy on entry requirements before travel.

Travel forms

• Travellers are required to complete a Health Declaration online prior to travel.

Legal Penalties and Restrictions

• Some electrical items with heavy power consumption and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) may be confiscated on entry to Cuba. Such items are usually returned on departure.
• Inbuilt GPS on mobile devices should be disconnected or disabled.

• Cuba allows a maximum of two pieces of checked-in luggage per person, each up to a maximum weight of 32kgs. Confirm your luggage allowance with your airline.

Special Advisories

• Travel directly from the USA to Cuba for tourism purposes is prohibited under US law. This applies to US nationals and all foreign nationals resident in the USA, or travelling through the USA en route to Cuba.
• UK nationals travelling on direct flights between the UK and Cuba, or via other countries, are unaffected by this US legislation.
