France Travel Advice

Entry requirements differ by country. The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) issues country specific travel advice including Health, Visa and Vaccination requirements.

Entry requirements:

Entry requirements for children

  • Children under 18 traveling unaccompanied must present a signed AST authorisation form, their own ID card/passport, and a copy of the ID card or passport of the parent/guardian who has signed the AST form. More information can be found on the French Ministry of Interior website.

Passport validity

  • For Schengen area countries, your passport must be issued within the last 10 years and valid for at least 3 months after your planned departure. Check Schengen area passport requirements.

Visa requirements:

General

  • Visa-free travel for up to 90 days in any 180-day period for visits to countries in the Schengen area (including France) for tourism, visiting family/friends, attending business/cultural/sports events, and short-term studies/training.

Customs checks upon entry into France:

Travelling with pets

  • For traveling with pet dogs, cats, or ferrets, follow the UK government guidance.
  • For other pets, obtain a health document signed by a vet.

Please note that there are no COVID-19 related requirements for entering France.
