Park Hotel

TripAdvisor Review
Malta and Gozo, Europe

Offering contemporary hotel accommodation at its finest in the heart of Sliema, the Park Hotel is just a step or two from the promenade. Amenities at the Park Hotel are bang up-to-date, but the service ethic is very traditional. You'll be well looked after here. No wonder then that it's such a popular destination for holidaymakers.

And so is Sliema. The fabulous coastal views, the smooth pebbly beaches, the walks and the friendliness of locals all help keep it top of the list for so many holidaymakers. And there is the sea itself – the Mediterranean is deep and blue, perfect for snorkelling – or quick dips.

The Park Hotel – your stylish contemporary hotel in the heart of stylish Sliema:

With its grand pillars and keen sense of contemporary design, the Park Hotel is a popular hotel with British holidaymakers. The staff's attention to customer satisfaction and the wide ranging facilities all reinforce that sense of being somewhere rather special.

The high standard of design and decor is continued in the twin bed air-conditioned rooms, each with private bathrooms, TV, direct dial phone and mini-fridge. During your stay you can enjoy amenities like the rooftop pool and the heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and restaurant. You can relax in the lounge bar (open on some nights) or internet café, settle back and enjoy the view from the terrace lounge, and even enjoy a massage, all on site. You can even enjoy the Park Hotel's programme of live entertainment or sports on the big screen.

In other words, you're right where you need to be. Right in the heart of Sliema, and perfectly placed for venturing out and about and exploring a little more of this fascinating island. The local bus service can take you to nearby Valetta, the cultural (and actual) capital of Malta.

The mix of superb modern facilities and traditional attention to service marks the Park Hotel out as an excellent choice for holidaymakers. In fact, like the neighbouring towns, it's a combination of modern (Sliema) and classic (Valetta) that works wonderfully well side by side.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Birthday bargain get away

Review by Keen2travelovehols Staffordshire, United Kingdom

I made a booking with this hotel as the price was amazing first and foremost , where I treated my partner and I to a week away for £150 flight hotel bed and breakfast . This was 30th January until 6th February **2019

The location of this hotel was superb, we just off the bus from the airport and literally only had to walk five minutes to the hotel , which is a short hop from the promenade area overlooking the sea . This hotel was perfect for jumping on and off the bus across the road Which enabled to see all of Malta on the bus , the nearest bus stop got you literally everywhere.

The pool was disappointing and the gym was really old so we choose not to use these facilities, the room was acceptable standard and clean and the shower bathroom was good .

The breakfast was decent and I’m quite fussy, the food was plentiful and I spoke to the chef for him to accommodate me as a vegetarian .

We would stay here again as everything was acceptable and decent stay for the price . The views were nothing special street scene with some noise, we got out early every day so it didn’t matter...

I found the smoking right outside the front entrance off putting . We both had a massage and enjoyed it. There was a handy shop on site , open till late also selling shops , mini cafe shop inside the hotel . The reception area is welcoming, the staff were adequate And the lifts worked l. We didn’t notice many English staying at the time but that was ok with us .

Faulty Towers

Review by aloysious4 Tayport, United Kingdom

We booked there for 2 weeks but the place was dirty, the drawers in the room were falling apart when you tried to open them, the surfaces all felt sticky. We stayed one night and after an argument were given €250 refund but only after threatening to report them to the authorities in Valletta.

Good hotel

Review by Adrian H Bedlington, United Kingdom

Hotel rooms were good with balcony. The hotel restaurant was actually a separate restaurant in the hotel where the food and staff were good.
It was conveniently situated near the bus stop and the sea; there are no/few beaches in Malta. From the hotel it was only a few minutes walk to Silma harbour area, where you could get the ferry to the capital Valletta for a Euro or two return, which I did frequently. If I had thought sooner, I would have bought a weekly bus pass to travel around Malta...

This, I think was 20 Euro for the week. I would stay in this hotel again.

Review by Georgie P Southampton

I was sure l had put a review on here before about this hotel, we stayed there 7 years ago, didn't like it one bit, dirty and dusty, chewing gum stuck to the floors, bathroom filthy, l remember the toilet brush in particular was disgusting, tea and coffee for rooms had to be purchased from the hotel, a few teabags, coffee sachets and sugar satchets etc in a plastic bag. The reason l am writing this is because the hotel is closed, looks like a refurbishment is taking place, our current hotel room looks directly into it. On the first day we noticed a chambermaid washing out drawers under a bed, looked like she was putting effort into it, however as the weeks have gone on l think her efforts have been in vain, we've watched window frames being sanded (but only in spots) all sorts of other work going on, tiles being ripped out new tiles going in, throughout all of this the curtains have hung at the windows, the beds and pillows etc are still in the rooms, and most of the windows have remained open day and night...

We were plagued by dust on our stay, something that we are wary of as my husband has asthma, l wonder if new beds and bedding pillows etc will be purchased, or if the stuff stacked on top of the beds will be reused, will new curtains be hung? If you have asthma think twice about booking here. We just looked up Park Hotel on Times of Malta, seems like MTB forced it to close after three warnings about hygiene and standards! PLEASE NOTE WE STAYED 7 YEARS AGO, MY OPINION IS BASED ON MORE OBSERVATIONS MADE OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS. I can't comment on current staff. I am submitting this as l genuinely think that 'cosmetic' job is being done, if the management haven't cared before will they care in the future? I dread to think how much dust is trapped in those blue patterned curtains.

12 giorni!

Review by antoninolanza Forli, Italy
