What a Delight

Review by TheOldCroque Malvern Wells, United Kingdom

From time we arrived the welcome and customer service was fantastic. We love our stay, breakfast was all that we wanted, the omelets were to die for, the lady cooking them was definitely an expert!!! The rooms as we stayed on 2 separate occasions were very clean, huge, with balcony to watch the sunset and sip your drink of choice. We would definitely stay here again and thank especially Suzana Sylivia for making our 2nd stay especially delightful.
The position of the Hotel is excellent, with a bus stop right outside to take you to Funchal and local villages...

All for 1.95 euros. wow!! What an experience also, loved it. Also the views overlooking the ocean were blissful. I will say try and get in Block C, but other blocks just as good! We will be back, thank you once again.

5 Night Break

Review by SCJW50 Hook, United Kingdom

After a poor Summer in the UK we decided to try Madeira for a small break. The Golden Residence Hotel was fantastic choice. Arcilia and her Team were superb, not forgetting Oscar the cat. Location was a 30 min into the centre of Funchal, but numerous choices for eating and drinking within easy reach.

Lovely hotel outside the city of Funchal with very helpful staff and good facilities.

Review by millies989 World

We stayed in an apartment in block B, central in the hotel. Clean and spacious room, with a separate bedroom and living area and a balcony with room for four. The kitchenette has two rings, a microwave and kettle with crockery etc for four...

Although there are sofa beds there was only space inside for two people to sit and eat. Breakfast was varied and excellent, the only niggle being that the milk was never cold so not great in cereal. The evening buffet was also good, but we mostly ate elsewhere in the evening. The gardens and pool area are beautiful but the pool is in the shade until the afternoon - good in the summer I imagine, but less so in early November when we were staying. Going into the city on the bus was easy, taking about 20 minutes and there were shops and a supermarket a short walk from the back of the hotel. The spa had good deals on massages but the steam room and jacuzzi were closed due to Covid-19.

Holiday break

Review by swansmum93 Huddersfield, United Kingdom

Booked the Golden Residence from many on the Jet2 site. Good hotel with all Covid measures in place. Very clean and welcoming staff...

Breakfasts were good with plenty of choices available for all tastes and preferences. We only had a couple of meals as we booked b&b but they were very good. There are plenty of facilities and access to the town is easy as the hotel is on the bus route. The little things that niggled was that they charge for things that other hotels wouldn’t; €1.50 per day for the room safe, €5 for the use of an iron for 3 hours - nothing major just disappointing that these weren’t available as part of the package
