Excellent hotel! When we arrived Maria head housekeeper checked us in. What a lovely welcome! She was a delight! friendly, funny and gave us lots of information about hotel. What a fantastic start to our holiday. We must have been lucky because we had a lovely room overlooking the pool and we were next door to rest of our family. Rooms were lovely, so clean and lovely large walk in shower. We hired a fridge as it didn't cost much so we were happy! Rooms were kept lovely and clean and the ladies who clean the rooms spoke excellent English and were very friendly. The food was good with plenty choice, it was a very well run dining room. The Hotel Manager was present daily which makes a huge difference to how a hotel runs. I have never been to a hotel where ALL the staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you they are a credit to the Manager and the hotel. The animation team ( Kobe, Julia, Romane, and Valou, were fantastic so friendly, never pushy they just wanted everyone to have the best holiday. My grandson thought they were great they kept calling him Eminem and he loved to join in because they were so lovely. Lots of activities for children and adults, and you could just join in when/if you wanted. Never saw any long queues at the sun loungers? Sometimes a little queue would be at the outside bar for drinks but the staff at the bar were friendly, efficient, and to be honest Iv'e never been in that much of a hurry for a drink can't wait 5-10 minutes. We will definitely be back we all had the best time! Thank you all so much.
This is our third visit to Palia La Roca, and we already can’t wait to return. Although some rooms in the hotel are a little dated, they are very clean. Reception, housekeeping, restaurant staff all work so so hard. The bar staff are super efficient and friendly. Laura is the queen of multi tasking! The animation team - what can I say - these guys are exceptional 🤩 Julia, Kobi and Valou are absolute superstars, friendly, encouraging, entertaining. They made us laugh every single day. The location is perfect for pool days, beach days (2/3 mins walk to the beach) and it’s only 10/15mins walk to the marina. The food selection is great, plenty of options for everyone.
Location: Great to get to the beach very short walk get to the underpass, so don't have to cross the road, so a few minutes to the beach. The hotel is up a steep, but short hill. And it's about a 20minute walk to the marina, which is lovely. Was ideal to go to the beach and go back to the hotel for dinner as we were all inclusive. But we would sometimes eat out. A nice Italian nearby, Casa Alberto, worth a visit, and coast to coast is also worth a visit.
Atmosphere: Okay. The bar staff were amazing and the cleaning crew were lovely. The entertainment team had their favourite guests in the hotel and would often ignore some people. But if people spent a lot of time in the hotel and pool areas they would make of an effort with those people. Not a huge issue for us.
Hotel amenities: Pool was fine. It was clean, and ideal to cool off in. It wasn't too busy in June. There was water polo some evenings, which often ended in arguments and people going too far. Think the entertainment staff should have controlled this better, it was uncomfortable to watch.
The room was old and tired, apart from the bathroom that had been modernised, and had a great power shower. There was no cover / flap on the air con.
The drinks were typical what you'd expect for AI package. Cheap imitation, but could buy the better stuff. However the always had to be in plastic glasses, even on a night.
The twin beds were soooo uncomfortable and the sheets were like sandpaper. The pillows were too low with one pillow and too high with two pillows. We didn't get much sleep on a night.
The food was okay. Very similar food each day. Coffee / tea machine only on in the dining room on a morning. If you wanted one during the day it was in a paper cup from the bar area.
Overall the hotel was okay. Would I rebook to go here? No.
Wasn't awful, but wasn't great.
I was in a party of 4. I didn’t choose the hotel but looking at it online, I knew it wasn’t going to be my standard. I always go 4/5 star but went with the choice of the other 3 in the group. I wish I hadn’t. Two of the group had been the year before and said it was a great hotel. I suppose it depends on your standards!
Prior to my stay I contacted the hotel and asked for a high floor room that had been refurbished. I got neither! . The rooms we were allocated hadn’t been refurbished and were lost in the 1970’s. Basic! No kettle or fridge although I did hire one. Balcony was dirty and facing the pool. So noisy out there day and night! Non stop music and kids screaming etc. People sunbathing just below it so absolutely no privacy on balcony on in your room. Air con was very good as was pressure of shower. Bed was comfy.
The corridor carpet outside our ground floor room was full of massive stains, there were bars on the windows, wood chip walls, dirty scuffed paintwork and just generally run down. It gave an extremely bad impression.
Food and drinks were awful. I ended up just eating rice and chips or didn’t bother going for food at all. Very cheap cuts of meat and buffet just not appetising to look at. Ants swarming around the syrup which put me off at breakfast. I only ate croissants. All inclusive drinks were all watered down and were somewhat unrecognisable to taste!
The bar staff were lovely and the entertainment staff were constantly working. Staff in dining hall were somewhat short in their manner. There is a nice area off the bar with comfy seating facing the sea but the sofas and chairs could do with a good deep clean.
If you want a relaxing break, then this hotel is certainly not for you! People were queuing for sun beds when the pool opened at 10am and running to get their preferred spot! Loud music all day and noisy activities. Pool area needs attention as some areas very unkempt. Grass areas where sun beds are need a lot of attention! Overgrown bushes and dangerous drops.
The location is good. If you want a real drink, the bar across the road is good! Supermarket there too selling basics. Hotel is close to the beach and pretty central to lots of amenities.
Overall, I would never return to this hotel and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. If you can’t eat the food and the drinks are all watered down then what is the point in it being all inclusive?! I don’t know why people rate this hotel, I really don’t. It needs massive investment in all areas and is just so rundown, shabby and dirty. I didn’t have high expectations for this hotel and, unfortunately, I was right!
2nd time visiting the hotel, very well located with short walk to the promenade and easy access to public transport. Hotel very clean, pool is lovely and plenty of sunbeds. Lots of options for food and drink. Lovely polite and helpful staff and entertainment team. Will be coming again in 2027
