The hotel has eight outdoor pools, perfect for a peaceful swim or sunbathe with free pool towels provided on arrival. There is also an artificial boating lake which is a fantastic site for sailing and kayaking as well as various sporting activities to take part in directly within the hotel?s grounds. You have the choice to dine at two separate restaurants, and shops, bars and other restaurants are just 500 meters away.

Wi-Fi and air conditioning as standard, all rooms provide either a balcony or terrace to enjoy a view of the sea. With a flat screen television and a bathroom containing a bath as well as a separate shower, Sandos San Blas has everything you need for a wonderful holiday.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Very disopointed for a 5 star.

We are flying home today and as I wait in reception for our transfer I thought I would write this review.

When we arrived check in was fault less which was great after 6 hours of travelling. Our room was on the 3rd floor - I was very bit and spacious which was good...

A lot of things in our room was broken - the lights with for the bathroom - the air on (someone came out 3 times to fix the problem) the best moved in the night and we’re like laying on rocks. The next morning we went down to breakfast, as we were eating we were swarmed with flies like loads and as you go round the buffet - especially the cold salads and breaks there was flies just sitting on the food! this is very disgusting. We found every time we went to the restaurant we would find flies sitting on the food and even when you took your food to the table they would follow which is a major out off and very unhygienic. The lady who seated us in the restaurant on a few occasions came across very rude. Also there oils only be one member of staff per area taking rink orders and then clearing plates - leaving stacks of plates piled up. The food is very much the same everyday - lunch and dinner - so 5 out of 7 nights we would eat out. The al cart resturent - where you are meant to get 1 free meal for every 5 nights stayed was closed. There was no mention of this when booking which is disopointed. The areas around the pool and grounds are kept well and you can often see contractors painting and retiling. We didn’t visit the lake or go kyaking so I cannot comment on that. The hotel has a small village either side when was liking out onto the beach - the village on the right (if you were facing the sea) is up some stairs and you cannot miss it. It is very small with a few restaurants and bars and a small supermarket. Apart from that you will need €20 ina taxi each way to get to a main town. We found it cheaper (and easier) to hire a car as the taxis would drop us somewhere completely different to where we asked. It does state on the map at check in that there is a free shuttle bus but that is non exsistent. The hotel is large and quite hilly with lots of stairs and ramps. The night entertainment consisted of singers in the bar area by the pool which was nice and then at 10 there was a show in the main building on floor 2 under reception but we only watched it once as it was not great. and then did a quiz another night in the same place.

Overall we will not be returning - this was our honeymoon after getting married and COVID and I must say I am very disappointed. I believe this hotel to be a 3 star at most.

A Fantastic relaxing week at Barcelo Tenerife

We spent 6 nights at Barcelo Tenerife as a last minute holiday. We had never been to Tenerife before, and had to decide based on the photos and other reviews online.

The photos and reviews don't do this hotel justice - it is much better!

The hotel is just a short transfer from Tenerife South airport, and whilst you do notice planes landing/taking off during the day, they aren't a nuisance...

The hotel us unique in its style, set into the side of the island, and over many levels, with fantastic views and setting. We were greeted at reception by a friendly face, and given our room.

The room was spacious, comfortable, and with a balcony overlooking the upper pool area, all the amenities were great, and just what we expected. You could upgrade your minibar if you wanted it full (but you could get drinks from the bars and take them back to your room).

The food was good - there was some vegetarian options but not a lot - but there was different food across different evenings, with Mexican, Curry, Pizza, as well as a regular range of meat, fish, salad, and some very tasty puddings!

There were several activities throughout the day if you wanted to do that, or we just enjoyed relaxing by the pool and walking around the local areas.

The evening entertainment by the pool bar was great, and catered for everyone. It was very laid back and not too energetic, helping you relax even more! The staff were very attentive, with Jose R making us feel very welcome, and he looked after us most evenings, remembering our drinks and truly made the holiday when you feel that cared for.

All in all, our first visit to Tenerife, and this hotel along with Jose R and the staff made us feel very welcome, and we will definitely return. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice relaxing stay in Tenerife. Thank you!

Fantastic All Inclusive

The Barceló Tenerife was an amazing family vacation for me and my family of four. After not travelling for ages this hotel and staff gave us a phenomenal experience. With 8 pools across a gorgeously thought out large estate and a view of Mount Tiede...

We upgraded to all inclusive from half board just because we enjoyed the vibe. The restaurant Staff were professional, friendly and loved children. The food was good and the kids had plenty to choose from. The all inclusive cocktails were generous too!

The covid precautions the hotel put in place were also 5 star and all guest adhered to them.

The kids club staff (Emi) were phenomenal as was the pool entertainment. The kids disco was also fabulous but a little late @ 9:30pm for our kids - so we only did it once. The adult entertainment was amazing in an incredibly spacious venue that comfortably allowed for social distancing.

We had no intention of leaving the premises as this holiday was all about pool time and the Barceló delivered.

You can definitely feel the impact of Covid but the hotel and it’s staff have done an incredible job in ensuring guests have a good time.

We will definitely be back! Muchas Gracias Barceló Tenerife!

Great visit, albeit not a 5* one

Let me start by saying we had a fantastic week away here, albeit there were a few things which have stopped me rating the stay five star.

The good - the hotel itself and the grounds (greenery, pool etc) are fantastic. The staff work really hard to keep the place clean and presentable and that shows...

The bar staff are really attentive and super quick, there was never really a wait at the pool bar and during the evening drinks were provided quickly. The room is spacious and cleaned daily with fresh towels and bedding which is great. The entertainment is fantastic, during the day they would have performers round the pool, be that singers or musicians playing instruments - the two gents singing together and the violinist particular highlights! Entertainment of an evening is good too - you can either sit at the bar near the pool where they have live musical performances (the saxophonist is great) or you can head up to the theatre to watch live shows like acrobatics or rock banks - cool! The animation team work really hard and have a number of activities through the day to cater to different peoples interests.

The bad - the food is average at best. Unfortunately the majority of the time (more lunch and dinner) food wasn’t hot and was either just warm or at worst cold - which when it is rice and poultry isn’t good, so we had to leave a number of plates and attempt to choose something which may be hot! Its also really repetitive, there is not much change day to day on the majority of food items, albeit they did do a couple of themed nights. We ended up walking into los abrigos the last night for dinner and had a great meal there. Also, service is extremely hit and miss, some of the staff are really good, others really poor. You may wait two minutes for a drink, or 15 minutes! For some reason the a la carte is closed which is a real shame, something which we were not notified of by TUI when booking. Our room was on the side where the building work was going on - we arrived in the evening so weren’t aware until we woke up the next morning. Now we made sure we were up at 8am everyday, which is when the building work starts so it really didn’t impact us too much, but if you are a later sleeper then it really would of been a pain - they work 8-6 monday to Friday. TUI also advised us we would be put on the side away from the building work which didn’t happen, so just something to bear in mind. Mini bars in the room are empty and you have to pay to have them filled - strange for a “five star”.

All in all we had a great time (the above are really just little points rather than big issues) and said we wouldn’t be adverse to going back - that said we got a good discount through tui and if i were to pay full whack and if we were to ever return and it was still classed as a five star i would expect the dining experience to be of a much better quality etc.

All Inclusive?

This holiday was our third visit to what was the Sandos San Blas, now Barcelo Tenerife. Sooooo, disappointed, we know hospitality has suffered through lack of staff recruitment since lockdown was lifted...but...reducing "All Inclusive" to treatment for 2nd class Citizens, when charging extortionate costs. We had watered-down drinks and no water for our room, a god given right...

The advert quoted tea and coffee supplies in the bedroom, yet could only have flavoured teas, no coffee and milk only provided for the first night. The original hotel was eco friendly, with the option of only having our bedding and towels changed by request, not now, the towels are changed weather required or not. The bed linen changed on our 8th night out of eleven. The local building works added extra dust to areas, such as balconies,windows and pool surrounds but no extra cleaning was performed to combat this at all during our stay, if you dropped a personal item, expect not to be able to use it again. Although particular members of staff bent over backwards to change things, ie, Sandos original employees, management were not for changing. We will not be returning and will miss what was a beautiful place and lovely staff who work hard to provide a great experience. Good luck to them all.
