An Exceptional Stay at Cinnamon Velifushi

I normally stay exclusively at Marriott hotels, both for business and leisure, and spend between 150 and 180 nights a year in hotels. With that background and experience, I have to say that our stay at Cinnamon Velifushi was truly exceptional.

During the first three days, we were delighted to receive a wonderful upgrade to two water bungalows. After that, we were also provided with a complete beach bungalow, which made our stay even more enjoyable and comfortable.

The food was of high quality and, especially considering that this is an all-inclusive resort, we found the selection to be varied and enjoyable. We therefore did not feel the need to use the à la carte restaurants during our stay.

I would especially like to highlight two members of the team who made our experience even more special. Satyman, the chef, was always incredibly helpful, friendly, and welcoming. He consistently took the time to assist us and always greeted us with a smile.

A very special thank you also goes to Husam, who was our waiter throughout our entire stay. He was attentive without ever being intrusive, and his calm, warm, and friendly manner made every meal a pleasure. His service was outstanding and truly contributed to the wonderful experience we had at the resort.

Overall, Cinnamon Velifushi exceeded our expectations, and we would be very happy to return.

We stayed at Cinnamon Velifushi for a week in August in a water bungalow, and it was a wonderful trip. Watching fish, rays and even baby sharks right from the deck at any time of day never got old.

The resort is really well maintained, and the operations are excellent. Any request or wish was handled quickly, the facilities are great, and the staff even gave us a tour of the resort. Everyone genuinely cared about making our stay special. Weather in August is a gamble, but even with a few cloudy days we had a great time.

Special thanks to four people who made our week:

1. Vikaash, our bungalow attendant — super nice, kept everything spotless and surprised us several times with beautiful

bed decorations.

2. Chef Raaji and Chef Lasitha — they simply came up to us and asked what we'd love to eat. We said sashimi, and they made it for us again and again without us even asking. On our last evening he told us he'd cook anything we wanted. That's hospitality.

3. Sithuni — great breakfast and always a warm welcome.
