Napasai didn't have much information about accommodation on the Korean Internet, and choosing it as a honeymoon could be an adventurous decision.
But Napasai's honeymoon perks are amazing and memorable for the rest of my life
If I have a chance, I will visit again
We arrived and were greeted by Alla Elizarova, who was extremely friendly and highly professional. Every hotel should have an “Alla" who has a great personality, is efficient, and is well versed in offering only the very best service. Indeed, we were overwhelmed by the level of service provided by her team, the highest standard we’ve experienced anywhere in the world. What an exceptional member of staff! Congratulations, Alla, and thank you for taking such amazing care of us all.
The restaurant, BBQ, and bar were all fabulous, creative traditional Thai cuisine blended to provide some of the most delicious food ever, beautifully presented and prepared by amazing chefs. The cocktails were also delicious; we were all very impressed. Tængkwā, was a dream, no stone was left unturned, she remembered everything, a delightful lady and excellent restaurant manager!
Despite the fact that we had only just had the pleasure of meeting Ae (Hathairat Faiin), she went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and took care of us.
Thank you.
5/5 we took a risk and came out of season much to my Asian friends’ incredulity! What???!! Going in November??? The sun gods smiled though and we had several days of sun so that we could visit the Elephant Sanctuary and Pig Island. Back to the hotel. Yes, it’s out of season but the hotel was gloriously quiet and we had most of the facilities much to ourselves most of the time. Examples include the huge huge pool, the well stocked well air conditioned gym and the restaurants. The staff here are very brand loyal and apparently the Belmond group were one of the few to keep on all their staff on full pay during Covid for which they are still very grateful. Which kind of makes me feel brand loyal too. They are attentive without being over bearing. The staff are incredibly polite and helpful. We didn’t get to meet the manager but maybe he or she was having a break being low season. I loved the spa and compared to other Belmond hotels is bordering on cheap although expensive compared to outside places. The spa is brilliant though and provide disposable boy shorts knickers and a changing room/ bathroom inside the spa and you ring a bell when ready. I had a full body massage which was very firm and a facial.
We loved the breakfasts. Small buffet selection because of visitor numbers and cracking down on waste ( well done), excellent super fresh pastries, lovely local yogurt, great eggs Benedict. My children loves the Nutella pancakes and juices to order.
We could have room service food as evening meals and the staff were adaptable with our children’s needs as they weren’t always in the mood for Thai. The hot dog was a winner. They also make cocktails off menu and being of a certain age am partial to a Cosmopolitan.
I had a cooking lesson with the chef and then the front of house staff with Google translate helped me write a shopping list in Thai so I could buy local stuff at the nearby 24 hour Supercheap supermarket. In deed it was super cheap! I showed my list to a lady there and she helped me get it all, had 2 bags of stuff including a load of exotic sweets for £10!! The chef was brilliant and I learnt how to make 3 things in an hour including the special fried rice which my daughter loved and repeat ordered.
The elephant sanctuary is a must and SO worth it. A nursing home memory. The sanctuary people come and pick you up and provide fantastic food and snacks as part of the entrance fee (Phad Thai and chicken nuggets and chips). Elephant stories beyond moving, caring caring staff and you literally get to cuddle them. The elephants, not staff.
There is a really nice Russian girl who helps as Guest Relations manager. The staff helped us get the very sumptuous SUV hotel taxis and it is so easy and the cost just goes on your bill. My daughter and I went 10 minutes up the road for an excellent quality hair cut with Dee Dee also recommended by the hotel. If it is raining I suggest a trip to Fisherman’s village for pedicures which they don’t do at the hotel, Italian food and a bit of shopping. We also went to the Central Festival shopping mall at Chaweng. We had a family foot and lower leg massage all in a row and did some clothes shopping. We also bought some good quality fake earrings that were a dead ringer for this seasons Van Cleef!!
We also used Oceaniasamui charters which the hotel organised for us and it magically all just goes on your bill, see separate review for our trip to Pig Island. This is the only hotel we have let our children go mad with the mini bar as it is so cheap compared to most European hotels.
Mozzies can be a problem and we found the insect repellent next to the mini bar near the end of the trip. The yoga platform is stunning although I did my own yoga stretches in the gym.
Our family villa was room 201 and we will really miss it. It is massive and we loved the bath tub which we all shared!!!
In summary the quality of the staff and food made this holiday along with the tranquility and size of the site. Rainy weather is not a problem as there is loads to do. All in all a brilliant family half term 7 day break and worth the long flight to get here
Truly wonderful experience Great team at a great hotel. The location of the hotel is about 30mins from the airport and to town, and perfectly positioned in a long stretch of private beach. The hotel team are very approachable and friendly across all teams!
Napasai is an unbelievable resort in Koh Samui - our favorite one throughout our entire honeymoon experience. The staff goes above and beyond to make your experience comfortable, relaxing, and beautiful. There were so many small touches throughout the week we stayed there - from scented pillows, to candles by our room in the evening, to the beautiful flower arrangement during our spa massages, to the mini treats they left inside our room everyday. It was perfect and I recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, beautiful experience!
