Kerala is a land of spectacular scenery – of great rocky cliffs and diving valleys, of lagoons and open seascapes, and, this amazing four star hotel, the Travancore Heritage enjoys one of its finest views.
Occupying a superb ten acre site, filled with lush gardens and shady groves, the Travancore Heritage sits high on a 120ft cliff top, looking down on the beach below. It's an impressive setting – no wonder it was once the site of a Royal Palace. In fact you can still admire some of what's left of the palace in the hotel gardens.
Travancore Heritage is a spectacular sight. On arrival, you'll be greeted with a complimentary drink and you can take your first opportunity to take in the impressive setting.
Built in two distinct sections; the first features the restaurant and pool area, and the traditionally inspired wooden cottages. Each is wonderfully well-equipped – fully furnished and air conditioned for comfort. Then take the lift down to beach level and you'll find a very different look and feel. Here the ambience is altogether more modern. Fresh, contemporary style is the order of the day. There are some excellent views out to sea, and the houses are all naturally shaded by the many palm trees.
The All-Inclusive package offers a wonderfully varied menu which includes all meals and non-alcoholic beverages at the hotel main restaurant. Guests are also entitled to free use of the internet café, and may even indulge themselves with a complimentary Ayurveda body massage and traditional lunch. Guests all receive a discount of 40% on all other beverages. The hotel also offers two other eateries including a charming beachside restaurant which is certainly worth a visit (not included within the All-Inclusive package).
With a hotel health club and spa, a library and even seasonal entertainment, guests at the Travancore Heritage hotel are given every amenity. It's a privileged position looking out over the Arabian Sea – the sort of view that dreams are made of.
The Travancore Heritage occupies a 10-acre site on a 120ft high clifftop overlooking the beach and sea below. Once the setting for a royal palace - the ruins are still visible in the grounds - it is in two distinct sections.
The main restaurant and pool area, together with a collection of traditional Kerala wooden cottages, all completely equipped, furnished and air-conditioned for 21st century guests, crown the lush green clifftop.
Below, at beach level, and connected by a lift, is the Beach Grove block of modern rooms, shaded by palm trees and looking out to sea. A beachside restaurant provides for the needs of those on the long sandy beach.
We arrived at the resort tired and the check in was poor. The room was not much better, the air conditioner was leaking, lights didn't work, T.V wasn't working also. The room was large and bathroom had all facilities...
We had a very disappointing meal in the restaurant. The breakfast was included however we had an early flight and requested a breakfast to take away. It was not ready when we lefted the next morning. Two positive the swimming pool is wonderful and the grounds are lovely.
In terms of location and landscaping, this property is very beautiful and we'll planned, a typical leisure destination. Staff, service and food is good quality. Only point where hotel needs to work is improving room furniture and placing of furniture pieces (considering heritage background it is understood but comfort and Luxury is missing)...
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and planning to visit back soon.
A genuinely nice hotel. The Heritage Lodge rooms are spacious and all in a lovely setting. The management and reception staff were helpful and smiling...
Out housekeeping supervisor JiJi was especially friendly and helpful
What a wonderful place, close to the beach with beautiful views.
The room and hotel itself were always clean, the food delicious and location was perfect.
The staff and management always made us feel welcome. Gopan, Arvind and Soloman and Neethu George were constantly smiling and made our stay even more fabulous...
Nothing was impossible for them to make our stay more memorable. The owner was also chatty and friendly which was lovely to see.
The chef went out if his way to cater for my wife who is vegan. He made a delicious potato curry with puri as an accompiant. Anu who worked in the restaurant was always there to help us.
The hotel specialises in Ayurvedic treatment. My wife had some treatments and found them extremely relaxing. Definitely recommend trying this out, you won't be disappointed.
I cannot fault this place. We look forward to visiting again soon.
Property is just 200 to 300 meters away from beach. As the name suggests they have rooms which gives heritage feeling. This includes bed, furniture and even the light switches...
They have restaurant which serves variety of items and most of the items we had tasted good. Due to kind of the resort, you may see more foreigners compared to Indians. Swimming pool is nice. They probably can have more activities for kids. Overall a nice stay.
